8GB would more than do me if and when I get the call, and if they add on the 5000 3-3 mins then 600 X network would do me as well (Just). But if they want to charge me more than £15 + 2% its a PAC code, I am a person of principle and will not do business with any company who I dont think has the same high standards as me.

There are reasons why prices have gone up, everybody seems to have forgotten the European price caps, loss of revenue from 0800 calls, changes to other rates and reduction in calls and texts due to what'sapp and iMessage.
The networks have to make their money somehow, they aren't a charity I'd expect to pay more for data as a result of these changes. |

Three (like EE) really need to refresh their Mobile Broadband tariffs. I took a gamble and went with the (relatively new) ID Mobile £20 / 20GB Month tariff, purely because Three doesn't seem to offer anything above 15GB / Month and even that comes with a long contract. 10GB / Month seems to be the limit if you want a 30 day rolling contract from them on MBB
I was already paying EE a similar figure for 15GB and so the extra 5GB / Month from ID for the same price was the deal clincher, so far so good, the sim arrived, it works and at home the speeds are good and consistent, and certainly as good as the previous One Plan was. I can also use the ID Mobile sim in a phone if I wish and add bundles of texts or minutes to it, on a monthly basis 'as required', its fairly cheap if you are a low (calls and texts) user but will work out prohibitive if you need 1000's of each. I rarely make calls or send texts, but its handy to just add a few hundred minutes occasionally to it for emergency use, or when i'm away from home, and being able to tether upto the 20GB from the phone saves having to pack the Mifi. My monthly usage hovers between 6gb and 12gb with 90% of that being used by other devices (tethering) so i'm not won back by Three's recent tethering allowance increase from 4gb to 8gb. |

Is anyone else still on the old one plan with the unlimited tethering like iam?
I was contemplating downgrading my tariff but when I saw the new plans were only 4gb tethering I changed my mind! But someone said above they've upped it to 8gb now? If that's true I could probably live with 8gb tethering and save myself a good £8-10 per month. I don't use half the mins or texts in my allowance either so I think I'm wasting my precious penny's! |

I am still on The One Plan but it's with an iPhone 5s not SIM-only. The 24 months minimum contract is up next March. I am just in the process of moving to a place with very good 4G coverage & performance (57Mbps down & 11Mbps up when I just checked) so won't be in any rush to sign up for landline broadband nor downgrade my Three sub while I can still use my unlimited tethering.
I got the spiel about "but sir let me inform you this price plan is now discontinued and we are sending out letters informing customers that they will be moved onto another plan". I know that but if I can still have unlimited tethering for another 6months/12months or however long it may be, then why not. ![]() Can anyone answer me this, if my contract ends on 24th of this month will I automatically sign up for another 24months if I haven't done anything before that date? How can I be automatically signed up to something that's been discontinued and no longer exists? |

No, it will turn into monthly rolling contract. And they will just move you to a different plan at some point unless you cancel.

Just to clarify Lidtop, when your minium term ends, you automatically go on to a rolliing 30 under the same terms, you cannot take out a new contract on the One Plan is it is discontinued.

I'm still on the one plan (15/month sim only) minimum term expired last November, when are the new price plans out? and would it be advisable to move to another deal ( ie sim only £17 AYCE/200 mins etc) before the 15th/18th Aug?

I have a question...
I started on the One Plan in February 2011, and had a 24-month contract. I then was on their £12.90 monthly rolling contract for the next 18ish months. I then went onto PAYG last August/September 2014 because of different circumstances. I plan to go back onto a rolling contract (probably a 12-month contract) in October. Would I be classed as a "loyal customer", or because I went onto PAYG, any contract I take out with 3 in the future, would I be classed as a "new customer"? I'd quite like to have a £15 contract with unlimited everything.. but I fear I'm not "loyal" because I went onto PAYG for a year! |

Always worth ringing up to ask, just don't expect anything would be my advice. |

I'm still on the One Plan (24 month contract) and it runs out next week.
I'm waiting to see if the Galaxy Note 4 comes down in price after the Note 5 is announced before I upgrade to it. I want the phone anyway (I've no doubt the Note 5 will be top dollar), but I'd be gutted if I upgraded now and then saw the price come down. Currently looking at 600mins / AYCE data for £44 a month (£99 upfront). I'm wondering if I can get them to waive the £99. I did ring them up the other day and the woman on the end of the line was hilarious. "Three isn't interested in making money" she blithely said to me when telling me I'd have to pay ten pounds more for a massive drop in current allowance. I went into a Three shop as well to ask about pricing as I was passing. They told me the cost would be £49 a month. According to the website, there's a £5 discount for paying by direct debit - but if I'd been a new customer, I'd have been put right off at that price. I'm sure I'll get dinged one way or another, but I use very few minutes and only need AYCE maybe once or twice a year. |

That's something that I don't quite understand as well, it says on the site prices include a £5 discount if paying by DD, but what does that mean? If it's £30 does that mean the £5 has been deducted already or the price will be £25?
Add £5 to the price on the website. You fail to make your payment by direct debit and that's how much they charge you. You pay by direct debit all the time and you pay the price on the website. It's a crappy sales tactic to make their prices seem cheaper So in your example. £30 inc the £5 discount already. |

That feels like a really crappy tactic, that they'd need to go to something like this to boost sales, makes them feel like a low cost airline at a time when they need to get rid of their cheap and cheerful image.

Also on the £15 (£10 subsidised) fantastic plan. Don't really tether so am well happy to sit in the background with my plan. Long may it continue. Changed to this when so many were getting phone calls saying they had to move off the original unlimited tethering one plan.
I had no call but called the number and got this.... we'll HAPPY Getting the 8gb tethering for an additional £1 is unbelievable value imo... well done |

The One Plan has always been £25 but got a £10 discount, reduced to £5 later. This discount is never ending, at least until the tariff ends! Thus, it won't carry over to whatever tariff people change to.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding of Alex's post was that the package he moved to upon leaving the One Plan was unlimited everything with 8gb tethering (i.e. the One Plan's lovechild), for £10pm? |

I'm confused too. I find it hard to believe anyone could get one of the new tariffs for just £10 a month. That would be as silly (for Three) as when it dropped the One Plan to £15. You can still consume a **** load of data on a handset these days, before even starting on the 8GB of tethering.

No. He's paying £15pm. (Sorry, typed £16 by mistake before)
It's very clear. |
