Still not had my letter but by the look of things it may well just be delayed in the post. As there are some discounts on the Vodafone and EE SIM only plans that run out in a few days time I am thinking I may just request my PAC now to see if I get offered something vaguely decent by Three retentions (think I would accept £20 / month for AYCE data and 200+ minutes). If not then think I will give Vodafone a try.

As far as i know the £20 200 mins/ayce data+12gb tethering is the standard rate.
If your on ( or were on ) the £15 plan thats a price rise of 34% with a reduction of 1,800 minutes, plus the loss of unlimited tethering |

Received the letter yesterday for two numbers. The third in the household was changed last year.
They are proposing the £30 tariff. What I'm finding especially poor is that the contract that was changed last year got a better offer despite being the biggest data/tethering user out of the three. I think it's time to move all plans including a fourth Three plan which was never on The One Plan. |

I don't have a letter, but I'm not sure what to do at the moment.
I really need a signal box (which I already have from 3) as the signal on every network is quite poor where I am (and we don't have modern iPhones so wifi calling is out). EE seems to make it an ordeal to get one. I happen to have a Vodafone box, but I don't want to use Vodafone while their network is still so poor where I live. Might just downgrade to a 30 day plan that is approx £15 a month for now. I don't need tons of data anymore. |

AYCE data and 200 minutes IS £20/month for a 12 month contract (£23/month for 1 month).
I actually called 333 earlier but not sure if I had got through to rententions straight away or not as I was offered some deals to stay almost immediately, albeit not particularly useful ones (variations of Unlimited mins/texts with 4GB or 8GB of data with discounts of around £8 or so). He did try to say that I was unlikely to be in the current wave of letters and may get to stay for another two or three months. I tried to see if he would offer any discounts on the Unlimited data tariffs (either 200 or 600 minutes) but he said he couldn't do anything for those. I said I would think about it for 24 hours and then call back tomorrow. |

I jumped ship this time last year despite not getting a letter. I jumped mainly because I very rarely went over 2gb most months and also when I did need to tether on the very rare occasion or stream iplayer or whatever the speeds were woefully slow.
I jumped to EE, for a measly 2gb data. Whilst not the best value I find It by far the fastest of any network and faster than broadband speeds. EE are not the cheapest but you should be able to get a good sim only deal via cashback on mobilephonedirect like k dos last year. Their Retentions is fairly good at offering good deals although I'm not having much luck at the moment lol |

Have they put the prices up? The wife took the 12 month version of this 3 months ago and is only paying £17 a month for it. That was the published price, not a retention deal.

I had the dreaded letter too earlier today. Seems like they've tried to put everyone on that 30 "deal"
Double the price bloody cheek of it.Looked at the plans and have gone for the 20 quid all you can eat data plan with 200 minutes, pretty peeved that we're paying more for a lot less though.

Same here, no letter but thinking of making the switch early. Liking the look of the Vodafone 20GB plan, after taking into account the included Spotify and quidco it's not a bad deal.
However I've been on three since launch apart from a 2 year excursion with voda.. and it wasn't good. Far too much 2G and overloaded 3G. Now I know voda has improved, and has more 4G, but it left a bitter taste in my mouth - for example I stream music driving in the car & three almost always works great.. Also much of their 4G capacity is at 800 - good for range, less good for capacity, leaving 3G ... voda at least also offer some roaming bundle options Network wise EE looks appealing, indeed the best - but too pricey/no 20GB/rubbish roaming, and BT mobile has no tethering (used a few times per month), and O2/giffgaff I don't trust to manage data after a quick payg trial a few years back. I'll get my pac anyway, but heading off to spain (lanzarote) soon, so how well feel at home works may be a factor! |

pretty info light article, and similarly useless response from three.
Fundamentally we (I got the letter this week) are out of contract min term, and so plan/price changes are perfectly legitimate despite what we might prefer ![]() three have made a decision that our tariffs are costing them too much. that's their call - they're a business not a charity. They should have just said that and yes prices are effectively going up.. no hiding. I do think they could have offered at least 2 plans with the £3 discount, (like the popular £20 option) or could have analyzed individual bill patterns to offer the closest match - £20 they're still the only network offering AYCE data |

I do think they could have offered at least 2 plans with the £3 discount, (like the popular £20 option) or could have analyzed individual bill patterns to offer the closest match - £20 they're still the only network offering AYCE data Unlimited tethering was the issue here. So, write to us all and say our terms are changing and we're losing that - or getting 8/12GB per month capped. Take it or leave it. My £10 discount was 'for life [of the contract]' but they could still increase line rental in line with inflation, before applying the discount. It makes little sense to have people leaving, even if just doing so to spite the network, when it will hit subscriber numbers. Yes, it will improve the ARPU if I leave, or if I accept a doubling of my line rental, but customers can vote with their feet and they are doing that. Yes Three has AYCE data, but that's not the be all and end all. If people now take the time to look at their usage, go into their data counters and see the average, many will find that they don't come close to needing unlimited. Chances are the ones needing unlimited were the ones tethering. The person I would have spoken to about this within Three left last year (to EE) and I can see why he went. They are under orders to make money, but this sort of thing is silly. We've obviously been talking about this on here for some time - right back to when the One Plan was officially ended some 18 months ago - but it's picked up now, not just because I got my letter, but because they've obviously decided to go in for the kill and accelerate the changes. I wonder what Three will do after all of this extra publicity? |

I got a text from EE last week offering 4GB of data and unlimited everything else for £18.89 per month.
I'm on the One Plan at £18 a month but still no letter- I'd imagine that those who are paying the higher price for the tariff will be targeted last. |

I was on the One plan until last week (I switched to 4gb data, unlimited text mins £11pm) I switched voluntarily to reduce costs. The reality is, Three have been targeting folk on this plan that were maxing out their allowance and making them switch (well according to what I have read on here anyway). This has been so for some time. So you might be on the One plan but as soon as you attempted it to use it to capacity, Three would soon boot you off. It's just a matter of time....
