Everyone has something to offer this series, but compared to previous series no-one really stands out if I'm really honest. This is just my opinion btw.
Overs:
Ben: Great singer, sometimes really great. He is another Tabby Callaghan/Jamie Archer/Danyl Johnson though. Think he'll definitely make quarter final but unsure after that.
Fleur: One of the few who stands out this year. Her vocals aren't outstanding, but she can sing well and in tune and she is a performer - which tbh is relatively rare in X Factor to sing and perform. And she can dance very well and rap very well. She won't win but she'll have the biggest career of this series. Probably a semi-final finish for her as an average, chance of leaving a week before or after. The show would be boring without her.
Jay: A good singer, but nothing much to report - seen many singers like him before. Think he'll likely go this weekend or following if he's lucky.
Stevi: The novelty act. He can sing okay however. He'll probably end up 6th or 7th (probably 6th and allowing a shock exit for Paul Akister at 7th).
Girls:
Lauren: Good singer - but massively overrated. Can see her in the final - but can also see a shock early elimination perhaps as well for her. As good female singers this series and previous series stand Lauren is fairly average or just below average. I do like her, but she doesn't stand out. She might have a couple top 10 hit singles in a year or so and then that'll be it.
Boys:
Andrea: Good singer - but again overrated. I still think he'll win, but there have been singers like him before who haven't had major success post-X Factor.
Paul: Very Craig Colton/Paije Richardson - will probably leave in next few weeks. Great singer but blends in background - even in this series we've got Andrea, Paul, Jay, Jake and Jack who all have that same sound to their voice but with varying power and control.
Groups:
Stereo Kicks: Can really see them going in next couple weeks. Too many in the group and no-one is distinguished too much. James carries the group a little on the vocal side of things. Even as a smaller group they don't stand out from other boy bands in the past who have either not made it big post-X Factor or left early in the competition. Good singers but surprised they're still in competition.
Only The Young: Yes you could argue they're very Same Difference (but with double the members). But I like them, they're fun, cheesy and all can sing relatively well. One of the few who stand out this year.
Can see potential for some shock eliminations in the next few weeks - either between the two favourites Andrea and Lauren or more likely Paul. If Fleur or even OTY were eliminated in November I'd be surprised and it would make the competition a lot more boring. Like I said in another thread as each series goes on it becomes harder to break the mould, as you get a certain type of singer/s every year or every other year at least.
