Pro Challenge

Interesting concept this year - especially given the partnerships are random rather than any of the actual pro partnerships.

Looks to me like a challenge that's perfectly suited to Kevin & Janette, but Iveta & Anton could be dark horses.

And it'll be hilarious to see Kevin & Janette v Alijaz & Karen given the extra competitive element their personal relationships add, particularly as the latter two were beaten by their real-life partners last year and will be out for revenge

How can Anton be a dark horse when he's such rubbish at Latin?

He could be a dark horse because he's rubbish at Latin. (Actually he's not bad, but doesn't seem to be able to choreograph it.)

If he was good at Latin, he wouldn't be a dark horse, he'd be a favourite.

I'm neither a Trent nor an Aliona fan, but I think I will be rooting for these two just because of Trent's comment about rabbits on espresso

Because last year proved he's quite quick, and all he really needs to do in a New York is make sure his feet turn quickly and he helps Iveta turn quickly.

I still think Kevin & Janette will win though.

It's an absolutely fabulous phrase...I've filed it for future use.

I liked that too. I am warming to Trent.

I am liking that they are doing this challenge as random partnerships. Any excuse to get conversation between two pros on the sofas gets my vote.

As many New Yorkers as they can manage in 30 seconds.

Oh what I wouldn't give to be as rubbish as Anton at Latin.

The New Yorker isn't a difficult step and as you say Anton is quick on his feet and Iveta is a very nimble stepper. I think they will hold their own.

And for strictly purposes, they are a fairly well established partnership. Can't hurt.

I'm not an Anton fan, but I wouldn't call him rubbish at Latin. I don't think he's much cop as a Latin choreographer or a Latin teacher and he's certainly not comfortable with it which is why his partners are at a disadvantage

He did really well in last years challenge. I was really rooting for him, but Kevin piped him at the post if I remember rightly.

I think the fact that Anton is old enough to be Aljaz's father may make it harder for him. It's a shame there's not a proper prize for the winners to make it a bit more interesting.
