Ordering Takeaway Food Online experiences
Not something I do a lot but thought I would do so tonight for a change.
Ordered online at 2045 and paid for it online, waited 75 minutes for it. Okay it was busy they said when they turned up November 5th bonfire parties etc would have contributed i suppose. However he handed me the food and said that will be 8.70 please. I said no it would not be as I paid for it online. He said are you sure I think you would know this.I was just about to get the ipad and show the online email, but he just said okay I will check with the shop and left. Not the greatest experience

I've only ordered once online through justeat. A kebab for myself and burger for my son. You could put any preferences down as well, like I don't like salad but I like onions and my son only wanted onions and ketchup on his burger. It arrived quickly and the order was spot on. It's nice to see on justeat other peoples reviews of the different places. Also handy paying online as I haven't always got the cash to hand.

Just Eat always been fine for me as well, although I only use them to order from places I know are ok.

Ive had a failed attempt through Just Eat placed the order and the order and money was taken but nothing turned up. Turned out place wasnt open when they said it was and they hadnt bothered to update the details with Just Eat eventually got my money back but now wary. Although would maybe give it another try as technically that was the takeaway to blame not the actual site. Would provably try with somewhere i know and trust first though.

I don't see why people blame the middleman. Either a takeaway is good or bad whether you order it through the middleman or on the phone.

I've ordered from hungry house and just eat before and also I always used Pizza Hut online delivery. The one thing I've struggled with is the timings, often they are late

For what you get, ordering out is very expensive.

Really? You have any stats to hand?
Equally, you could have stated where you are from. |

Well when I made the statement that take outs were expensive, I was talking about my own life, not assuming where you are from. What you did was assume, incorrectly, where I am from.
Maybe if you don't assume where people are from when they make a statement, all this could have been avoided. Some are better than others at assuming. For example, I immediately assumed you were not from London when you said ordering out was cheap. If you were better at assuming, you would have perhaps thought, 'mmm, this guy is not where I am from maybe..' Before getting aggressive and venting that is... Hopefully, this doesn't mark your day and you have a warm relaxing bath tonight to forget about the whole 'ridiculous' statement. Finally, perhaps don't generalise on food prices only in London making you local look cheap. Most the south east is expensive to order out and there are a good 25 million people here.

Recently we had one of those leaflets dropped through the door, I have ordered from the place before and noticed they also do just eat.
The leaflet showed one price, and just eat was at least 70p more expensive than the leaflet/in store price. Also had a £1.20 delivery charge to add on the bill so it couldn't have been that. Just eat also had less products than they do in store. I often buy shredded chicken/beef in a sweet chilli sauce. It cost £4.70 in person at my local chinese store that dropped the leaflet in and £5.50 via just eat. Needless to say I felt I was being charged for the convenience. |

I had an odd situation with Just Eat. I ordered a Pizza from somewhere, just around midnight. I then saw an icon that the store was closed and it implied the food would be ordered ASAP, but this was at 6pm the next day (well the same day, technically) when they reopened.
I went back to the beginning and this place was no longer on the list, so I assumed I was not going to get it. So as we were starving, we decided to order another pizza from another place that was clearly still open and then we would sort out the other order in the morning. But lo and behold, both orders turned up. |

I've ordered from Hungry House before. An Indian takeaway. It all went fine, and I know the takeaway where the food came from "in person" anyway. I just felt a bit too lazy to go and collect it myself or faff around looking for their website/number.
The only criticism I had was that it took quite a bit longer than if I had ordered directly for the food to arrive. The delivery guy from the takeaway actually told me to order direct from them in future because it was cheaper! |
