AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd allegedly tried to have two men killed.

He appeared in the Tauranga District Court this afternoon, charged with attempting to procure a murder.
He is also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and threatening to kill.
A bit more than the usual publicity over a forthcoming album release.

"Rudd was a notable absentee from AC/DC’s recent promotional material"

Could be there has been trouble brewing again* for a wee while.

*He was previously kicked out the band back in the 80's.

If this is all true then his days are certainly numbered for good this time.

Will the Jury find him guilty and give him 16 years in hell.

Life imitates art at times.

Phil fell apart in the early 80s when Bon Scott died. I wonder if Malcolms Ilness has effected him It's possible that it has.

Can't believe this isn't getting more mainstream coverage - was all over the news this morning and now seems to have gone on the backburner.

AC/DC are one of the highest selling, most popular bands of all-time. Back In Black is one of the best selling albums ever.

This is crazy news!

Think it's actually the biggest selling album by a group of all time?
AC/DC do tend to fly under the radar a bit.

2nd or 3rd biggest selling album ever. Michael Jackson is top. AC/DC and The Eagles are 2nd/3rd.
However, the Eagles album is a 'Greatest Hits", rather than a studio release.

What a strange system, where they charge someone at court one day, and then drop the charges the next day because of lack of evidence. Good news for him of course, although the other charges still stand.

Still up for 'threats to kill'.
I ain't worried about the drugs charges either. Heck, this is the band that had Bon Scott!

The charge was on BBC news on Thursday morning, the report it was dropped was on BBC news on Friday morning.

ANyway, I think they might have to get another drummer if they're going to be doing a world tour as he looks a mess and probably wont be allowed out of the country.
