An alternative to Three's unlimited 4G
JFC
06-11-2014
I was with Three's One Plan unlimited because I move around a lot and cannot be bothered faffing with land lines etc. as I am sure a lot of people were...

Since they are to discontinue this, I have been researching and found these guys who offer unlimited 4G for £20 a month through a 4G router that plugs into the wall.

https://www1.relish.net/athome

This will be idea for me as I can use this at home and use my 4GB allowance to power my tablet when I am out

When you are out of their coverage area it fall's back on Three's Network.

Has anyone used these and do they have their own base stations?

I entered my post code, but it says Looks like you're out of range.

The online support told me-

We are currently in the process of building and expanding our network, however, this can be a long process and we're looking forward to expanding throughout London and beyond in the near future.

It seems like it could be a long time before it's available for other parts of the country outside London.

btw- there are 405 user comments here.

There's 3 threads already on the subject. Take your pick of any of them

Unlimited tethering

That's got nothing to do with Threes Unlimited All You Can Eat Data.

So yet more trying to confuse two things and scaremonger. All they are doing is stopping Unlimited tethering.

No! They are on the subject of Unlimited tethering

That is naughty people running other devices off their mobiles and running up huge amounts of data.

Nothing to do with Unlimited All You Can Eat Data: Just those who are tethering.

This thread is entitled "An alternative to Three's unlimited 4G" - No mention of the word "tethering". Unlimited 4G (the subject of this thread) continues.

I see Relish use 3.6Ghz. They gonna need quite a few transmitters at that frequency!
Also how the hell are they doing unlimited for £20.
That won't last long will it.
Look at the T&Cs, States they may publish a fair usage policy.
"May" probably should be "will" methinks.

Indeed and tethering has been stated! It becomes an even more pressing issue with 4G than 3G due to the average download and upload speeds compared with copper based ADSL. This thread is about 'alternatives to 3's 4G' which has no indication about what mode of usage is used.

What many will be seeking is an alternative to the issue of One Plan withdrawal and the restrictions now being imposed. Is there another network prepared to offer what 3 provided on that tariff is the question I think that needs answered.

What a totally unconstructive personalised response to a serious attempt to return this thread to the question in the OP.

If you had actually bothered to read the opening post instead of channelling the church of the keyboard warrior, you would see its plainly obvious that tethering is exactly what's being talked about.
