Sugar actually liked him but couldn't find a reason to save him.

James has no capacity whatsoever to listen ( because listening involves a degree of thinking), he is aggressive and patronising with zero management skills, a borderline misogynist, has no attention to detail and cannot master a brief, therefore will never be a top salesman. His behaviour tonight showed how he can become aggressive very quickly and it's now clear why he's got assault convictions. Imagine that swaggering attitude in a bar after a few pints.

He's deeply lacking in ability and demonstrates to me the sad truth that in this series he was included only for entertainment value. I've always argued against people who made that claim before but I can't see any other reason.”

Thank you so much. Very well said and hit the nail on the head! Exactly right!!!

Can't believe everyone was falling for his act on You're Fired!

Me too. He was saying what people wanted to hear. All an act. I didn't fall for his speech in the boardroom either. I never trust anyone who makes a point of using your name frequently. They're being ingratiating. This time he was undone by getting the name wrong! Glad he's gone.

YASS. Bye biatch.

He was such a bully last night and Queen was almost in tears. Good riddance.

Felt completely let down and robbed by Dara and team last night.
Ooooh I so wanted Margaret or Claude on the panel.
Margaret would have shredded this little twerp and he wouldn't have been able to charm his way out of it.
Claude would have been fun too. Pity, it feels like they let him get away with murder and he will now think he is still God's gift to business!!
An opportunity missed by the producers and it would have made such good telly

some of you have this obsession with this word 'misogynist' it doesnt mean what you think it means and Im noticing its the buzzword to describe someone you dont like.

I didn't fall for his speech in the boardroom, I just knew it would be in the terms of the much-used "I am just like you Lord Sugar, started from nothing .. blah blah blah .. ". LAS does seem to like him but not enough to save him. James is redeemable, I think there is a nice person in there somewhere, but I have a feeling he will be trying his best to go down the "celebrity route" and that is not somewhere he should be. I wonder how long it took him to prepare his piece to camera about how much he wanted to inspire others and he would be happy to help out with charity work. James, you're not believeable enough, this has been done before and better.

James made excellent TV but I think LAS would have murdered him had he won. We all know that Sugar is not keen on education and degrees and we have seen other candidates in the past shoot themselves in the foot and then out of the door by discussing their education when in the 'three' in the boardroom. Reminding Sugar of his humble beginnings week after week after week would have made any self-made man irritable, but it was a fault in James' character-he just didn't understand when enough was enough. 'Less is more' just isn't part of his character.

James is way too full of his own importance and his pathetic excuses for his lies had the response I expected-disbelief from his team and almost hysteria from the other team.

I didn't watch him with Dara as I'd had enough of the little show off. From reading comments here, he didn't get the demolition job he so roundly deserved, but I suppose he's out of the running, everyone knows what he's like so there really was no point in rubbing salt into the wound.

I too thought his boardroom speech was phoney. "I never had no education". Why not? Was there a family tragedy that prevented him going to school or did his education suffer because he was a disruptive know-it-all in the classroom who couldn't be bothered to listen?

All that sucking up to Lord Sugar in the boardroom was nauseating . I half expected him to burst into the "I wanna be like youooo..." song from "Jungle Book."

He kept saying that he wanted someone to take him under their wing and mentor him but when others in the team have tried to offer him good advice, he's been rude and aggressive.

Interesting thought. Personally, while I think it's absolutely possible to be successful in life without lots of formal qualifications, it does irk me when some people seem to wave their lack of education around like a badge of honour, as if it somehow makes them superior to those who are educated. ("I scrapped my way to the top, learned everything I need to in the school of hard knocks" etc etc.) The way James referred to Roisin as "a smart, articulate lady" as if that was somehow a bad thing turned my stomach.

As a father of three children, I will be gently encouraging each of them to get as much out of their education as they can - but if they end up leaving school at 16, I'll be supporting them to make their own way in life, without turning into the kind of ignorant, arrogant oik that James is. A lack of education is no excuse for a lack of class and basic decency.

Completely agree with your final point too. James is full of empty words - but his actions on the show were far more telling.

BIB...Loved to have seen that, it would have brightened up his miserable performance no end.....

I've taught lads like James for 40 years and I believe your last point is nearer the mark!!

When he said "I never had no education" yeah I think that's obvious lol. He was beyond annoying and stupid and just the way he talks is enough to annoy me. So glad he's gone although he should have gone sooner.

James reminds me a lot of my old boss - childish, hyperactive with some sort of attentional disorder, and arrogant and autocratic. He was a complete nightmare to work for, and his business success was half how driven and determined he was and half because he had serious financial backing, but he COULDN'T have been successful without the serious financial backing in my opinion. People like that need money to tide them over through their bad decisions.

I like The Guardian's reworking of James' boardroom speech....

“I’m in this big wide world on my own,” he says. “And the reason I’m here is because I want someone like yourself, who’s been there and done that, to take me under the wing, give me the guidance that I need, give me some direction. At the end of the day, I’m just a boy, standing in front of a man, asking him to love him.”

As others have mentioned, why did he have no education, and why is he "in the big, wide world" on his own? Has he come from an underprivileged or broken family background, or is it because he's a pillock?
I foresee "James. My Story" being serialised in the tabloids soon!

Me three. It was pure PR to kickstart his (likely) reality TV career. He was a spoilt, nasty piece of work & even when he starting pouting in the boardroom, it seemed to make Sugar sympathise with him.
It was the same as when Luisa apologised on YF to being mean to Jason.

Exactly right. And look what happened to Louisa after she left The Apprentice....where did she end up? Yip, Celebrity Big Brother. Guess who's also being tipped to be in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother, yip you got it, it's James!

I couldn't script it any better if i tried.

I'm thrilled the creep has gone. But I hated how much he got away with towards the end of his time on the show, obviously wasn't expecting a witch hunt with pitch forks but James didn't exactly get a grilling from Sugar for his lying and unprofessional behaviour towards his team members, especially Roisin. He even got a "with regret" firing. Sickening IMO.

No surprise at all. The Apprentice stopped being a credible show about business many seasons ago. It's been packed with egotistical self promoting TV wannabees for a long time. I just consider it entertainment, nothing more.
