The thing about the professional RTV contestant is that they are going to be a producers delight. They are used to the 'scripted reality' genre and will play along lovely with whatever storylines are agreed.

Then Strictly isn't the show for you. It's a show about celebs learning to dance. If people already have experience then it's like watching Jessica Ennis entering all the events at a school sports day, Daniel Day Lewis auditioning for a school play or Yo Yo Ma trying out for the school orchestra.

I'm not saying that all ringers should be banned, just that the fact that it's not a level playing field should be acknowledged to the audience and in the marking.
