Well he is hot, so even a t-shirt will melt on him.

Finally a genuine looking smile from Ola but in some of these pix, and some that were on Twitter, her eyes looked sad to me, and in some, as if she'd been crying. I wish I knew what was really going on - but the recent photographs make me feel sad for her. I don't think I'll ever feel the same about Steve again - and Mr. Elsa couldn't stop laughing when I told him about the bullying/chaperone thing.

If it's the same one as on the BBC site then yes.
There is also a nice picture of them together in this article - about 7 down I think.

This thread has gone round in so many circles I'm surprised it hasn't long ago disappeared up its own backside. Can we possibly lay it to rest now??

Summary:

It has been a wonderfully engineered PR stunt.

Thanks guys.

All rather strange?

We can't blame Shimmy Jimmy because the story broke before he took to Twitter and oddly Steve and Ola (Mrs Perfect) seem quite okay together.

Don't 'get' it.

i don't know anything about the 'facts' or otherwise of this story, but i'm not nreally warming to steve. is he a children's presenter, cos he comes across as quite juvenile and socially inept, and it might be he just has a fairly limited experience of other personality types to those he knows and understands.

Thanks for lifting this thread in time for the show. I was seriously struggling to find anything new to say but you have found a wholly unique perspective
*applause*

To answer, he's a scientist/conservationist/explorer/tv presenter/mountaineer...
I think that covers it

Here, primer, this may help you

many are called, few are chosen.

yeah, but are his programmes for adults or kids, cos he always sounds like he's talking to kids... i'm just saying.

ola is scary to me, and i am about as urbane as they come... so what she'd be like to a slightly geeky / socially inept / mountain man loner can only be imagined....

Started in adults tv for Nat Geographic and has done both children's and regular adults' TV. If you're at all interested in conservation, the Lost Land... series are terrific. Or if you're interested in extreme sports for that matter

Yes, I agree. It's a weird match between the two!!

You probably aren't interested enough to be advised otherwise (intro'd to Steve) and the show's starting anyway but if you are interested, I have resources...

well, it may or may not be relevant to the specifics of the thread topic, but i thought tonight he veered between deadened disinterest and outright 'get me out of here'.

Strictly Come Dancing 2014 pro Ola Jordan has insisted she’s no bully following claims of backstage rows with celeb partner Steve Backshall.

There were reports last week that Steve had complained to producers over Ola’s tough teaching.

But the Polish beauty hit back this weekend as Strictly headed North for its annual Blackpool special.

“It’s not very nice to hear things like that,” she said of the reports. “I have been on the show a very long time and I have never had that kind of experience before.

“So it’s been very hard but I’m a tough cookie, I can take it and I’m staying strong. I work very hard on the show. I want us to work hard because I want to win.”

Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper, Ola added: “I’ve had a lot of support from the public, there’s a lot of love out there for us.

“So I’ve been focusing on preparing Steve for Blackpool all week. It’s a magical place.”

Steve was also quick to dismiss the reports, saying: : “We’ve been training really hard together, we have the same work ethic, we attack everything with the same kind of vigour and the same goals.”

Last night Steve and Ola danced the American Smooth, scoring 31 points to place them third from bottom on the leaderboard.
