Humax 2000T - "TV PORTAL" cannot connect to network.

(Am reposting this from elsewhere on this site as I think I probably chose the wrong place to post it yesterday.)

Hi
I've just replaced by old failing Humax 9300T Freeview box with a Humax 2000T Freeview box.
I'm trying to get the HUMAX TV PORTAL working, but each time I select it, it says "Cannot connect to network. Please check your internet connection or network setting". I can set up a working connection to my wireless router without problem (either via the Humax USB-dongle or via a LAN cable - both methods work fine), but when I then come to actually try to make use of that connection by selecting HUMAX TV PORTAL, it won't work.
Any thoughts what I'm doing wrong?
Cheers.

Apologies, please disregard the OP.

PORTAL has now burst into life. I guess the connection was ok, but maybe the actual PORTAL service itself was down/unavailable last night for some reason. Anyway, whatever the cause, it's working now.

More likely the Humax network stack was slightly confused and sorted itself out when coming out of standby.

It was a problem at the Humax end - the same thing happened to me, but I had a feeling it was just a temporary glitch. They might have taken it down for a short while for a few adjustments or maintenance.

Cheers Barbeler, I was starting to come to a similar conclusion myself, as - when my router happened to glitch the next day - I saw the exact same connection-failure message. I know that my router was working fine on the night I was first setting it up, but as I'd never seen the PORTAL working at that point, I just assumed it was a set-up issue that I was seeing. But now that I've experienced a network outage after having got the PORTAL working ok, I came to realise that a Humax-server issue could have caused this. Hopefully all will be well with it now!

I set up my new 2000T for networking. Box found the router's IP address ok and said "network connected". But trying to use it via TV Portal failed with " network not connected" (or similar) message.
Next time box powered-up everything worked. So, switching it off and on again did the trick.

Yeah, that does seem to be one potential solution. I did switch mine off and on a few times on the night I was having the setting-up problems, but to no avail, as the problem at that particular time was due to a central issue at Humax, but if that hadn't been the case I imagine that rebooting would indeed have nailed it.

I have a TP-link wireless n USB Adaptor.
Will this work with a Humax DTR-T2000.

Thanks

Do you have a model number for it? Chances are that the answer is no. You won't do any harm by plugging it into the Humax and see what happens.

Currently not a chance on the DTR-T2000 or any other Youview box.
