Speaker recommendations?
I have just ordered a Pioneer DV 575 player and VSX 1014 Amp to replace my all in one Panasonic SCHT 520 Home Cinema Combo.
Does anyone have any speaker recommendations for £400ish? Has anyone done away with the sub for a set of Floorstanders and Sats? Does this sound okay? Would be nice to not have the sub sat in the corner of the room. |

If you want your speakers for home cinema use, you will not get the range required without a sub.
look at something like the Mission Cinema m30i or M2s package, has a £500 retail but you can generally get it on-line for £350ish (unbeatable) |

Have a look (and a listen!) in a Richer sounds shop - they've got lots of speakers at reasonable prices.

I second the recommendation of the Mission package, also worth having a look at Tannoys in that price bracket.

Are these the Fusion range you're refering to? Hadn't listened to them myself but Tannoy speakers used to be very well reviewed.

I purchased Sony HT-DDW760, for around £200 and I play CD's through the DVD player, the speakers are incredible in my opinion, and when played through 'Surround mode' even better.

Thanks for the replies.....
i think it's going to be between the old Kef 2005 Eggs (£299.00) or the Mission M30 cinemas (£319.00) I think the eggs will be better but not sure if i can live with the looks of these? |

The Missions would be way better than the Kef eggs.

I have the NAD C320BEE amplifier, which drives my Mission m72i's. They are connected together using ultra-thick double screened gold phono cables, and heavy duty speaker cable. Sounds superb, the bass response is amazing. I don't even have/need any of the bass enhancements turned on either, as the system delivers without it - this is a sign of a good system. If your after good speakers then my recommendation is Mission all the way. The same goes for NAD, the sound from those amps' totally blows you away.

Hello,
Go to the WATFORD branch of richer sounds (its on st albans road i think) ask them their recommendations for your setup. If its a quiet day go in to the plasma room (most branches have this) and listen to a few commbinations. Oh and let them know your room size (roughly) bobbyk |

Hi, decided on Mission after a few auditions.
Went for the M34i's floorstanders, M3C2 centre and M31i's for rears. I haven't made my mind up about the sub yet, it'll be a Mission unit but which one i haven't decided yet. To be honest with the amp switched so that all the bass freq's go to the floorstanders i probably won't rush to get one just yet as they pretty damn good on their own.

Good choice
I've got the equivilant from the previous range, the m74. Fantastic. The sub I've got is a bit excessive, from when I used to play really loud music, a Jamo ProSub 1000EX (500 watts passive, dual cones, about the size of a large coffee table on its side) |

I like the sound of the sub Jay but i'm rapidly running out of space!
I think the mission M3as? will be the one to go for? The cost of this is starting to add up!!! |
