That's exactly how I feel about Andrea and Fleur.

Andrea has a great voice but he's boring. Fleur doesn't sing as well (and isn't my favourite) but she does seem to have the whole package.

How do you think Cowell would react if two of his acts ended up in the bottom two tonight

Yes, I agree. People need to vote for Paul and Only the young so that Jay and Stevie end up in the bottom then otherwise it will be Paul and only the young.

We need to wipe that smug grin off Simons face this week!

Lauren is very popular too and has a good voice. I think they want Andrea, Lauren, Ben and possibly Fleur in the top 4 myself. But Fleur doesn't have the strongest voice but she is a good performer and has the overall package.

AGREED Although I can't vote for oty as used up all my free apps on Paul. I wouldn't waste a phone call on oty. Paul on the other hand has had quite a few phone votes from this household

It's definitely underhand as to what's going on regarding Paul. Simon seems determined to try get rid of him, for whatever reason. I saw somewhere that Paul wanted to sing Dirty Diana last night rather than Don't Stop Me Now - there's definitely a reason he's being lumbered with poor song choices. Such a shame that on what is supposed to be a singing competition, that the best singer is treated in such a way.

Paul would have knocked out all the competition with Dirty Diana and they know it.

Don't stop me now plus the death slot = eviction for them.

They want him gone. It couldn't be more clear.

I want him to survive this week more than ever.

I've never voted and although I'm a massive Ben fan I've downloaded the app on both my phones and used all my votes for Paul. The guy has one of the best voices in the competition and Simon's treatment of him has been absolutely shocking and it's so blatant . that he wants him out (for whatever reason)

He'd probably still find a way to boot Paul off of the show

I have just watched Xtra Factor on catch up and that Sarah Harding & Myleen Klass needs a slap around the face. As does bully boy cowell, infact he needs a good kick in the dangly bits, well that is if he has got any

The blatant dislike of Paul makes me mad. It's so obvious he's being stitched up. Simon Cowell is such a hypocrite...he says to Only The Young not to listen to their mentor, they must decide the type of artists they want to be. But when it comes to Paul voicing an opinion on his song choices, he's told he is miserable, sucks fun out of the room and should listen to his mentor! What a load of rubbish!

All my votes have gone to Paul. I hope he's safe this week. It's not a hanging offence to be quiet and reserved!

It is getting uncomfortable, and the two witches are joining in, Mel pretending she hadn't slept all week, Cheryl telling him to listen to Mel, which he does without her advice, and Cowells vile reaction to last week's result.

Poor guy must know what is going on. I don't care if he is a misery, or if he moans about everything, which is how they are portraying him, I care about how he sounds when I put a CD on.

I'm becoming fairly certain the guests are briefed as to who to big up and who to downlplay prior to the Xtra Factor nowadays. They always seem to be on message and never seem to reflect the diversity of opinions that you'd find on here, for example.

I don't like Paul, haven't since the beginning, didn't want him going through since the judges house.

So perhaps they are reflecting my opinion?
Is that not allowed?

Seems to me DS has chosen an "underdog" to support and regardless of however many people don't like him, it's all down to manipulation and victimisation.

It's funny really, SC manipulates the program, but seeing Paul as some hard done by victim isn't a form of manipulation?
Isn't it getting lots of people to give him votes because they feel sorry for him, that's what posters are saying they are doing.

Of course you're allowed your opinion. But it's statistically unlikely that the guests would keep bigging up or denigrating the same contestants again and again without a prompt here and there. There always used to be much more differing opinion voiced on the spin off show but round about Little Mix's year they all magically started converging.

It's clear Simon doesn't want Paul to win but he was hardly stitched up this week. He was on first BUT phone lines and app votes are open from the start of the show. If Paul was amazing, people would've used up all of their app votes on him. It's far worse being in the second or third performing slot. The comments, bar Simon's backhanded compliment, were all really positive. People are just looking for something that isn't there in his treatment just because they know Paul isn't favoured. He was far from thrown under the bus. If you want to talk about buses, ask Janet Devlin, not Paul.

Only if you start from the position that the contestant they all seem to dislike is truly likeable and everybody is in on it.

I don't watch the spin off shows, only watching the main show as a favour to my husband as he's lost his viewing companion to the US for a year and it was a bit sad seeing him sitting there on his own.

It's an awful program, the only saving grace is being able to fast forward through so much of it and it doesn't take long to listen to the songs.

Paul just doesn't figure on the radar, yes he can sing but there's something off putting about him. You endure the performance rather than enjoy it. It's all too much work, too much "you haven't got a snowballs chance in hell so stop embarrassing yourself".

And that is reflected in the download charts that are reported on here by some FM. I don't see how those are being manipulated?
If people liked what they heard and wanted to hear it more, I don't think anybody saying anything would stop them surely?

This is what annoys me - the double standards.

OTY (who I absolutely love btw) get praised for making their own choices and picking their own songs. Paul, who suggests something different gets told to lighten up, is called the dementor, and portrayed as complete misery guts on his VT's.

Also that's the second 1st slot he's had since the start of the show. Don't they usually have some kind of rota system? but then I have to remember the year of Katie Waissle where she was on last nearly every week.

The iTunes charts reflect the songs themselves and the arrangements as much as anything else. If an act isn't given a song that plays to their strengths, or is a different genre to that which the contestants fans are likely to want from them then of course the iTunes sales are going to suffer. I'm a fan of Paul and his voice, but I'm not going to buy an awful arrangement of Don't Stop Me Now with tacked on DnB break because I don't want to listen to it. It was a terrible and limited theme but there are a whole host of songs in both catalogues that would have been more suited to Paul.

What confused me about Simon having a go at Paul last week was that the dark haired guy from OTY complained about a song choice two consecutive weeks, and I don't remember Simon saying anything about it.

I hate the double standards too. Gary Barlow was the king of this, always bleating on about how it was a singing competition and yet had the nerve to champion Frankie Cocozza (yes it was his own act but still.. hypocrisy).
