Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could help me here. I'm looking to purchase a new TV and 95% of the time it's going to be used for console gaming.

I currently have an old Samsung 32" LCD TV from around 4 years ago (It's a 4 series model) and it's been fine but I've had to move it into the living room to replace the old CRT TV that unfortunately stopped working recently. So that's the reason I need a new TV for myself purely for gaming.

I would like this TV to be larger than my old one, so 37"+ would be great.
Nothing above 47" though.
I don't really care about Freeview HD or all this smart, 3D crap or whatever but I would like a TV that has a 1080p resolution and 100Hz.
I'd like it to be good for gaming as mentioned but i'm not sure exactly how to find this out on a TV? Is input lag the best measure as I've read online? I'm not sure exactly where to find this or what number is a good number? But seeing as I've been fine with an old 4 series Samsung (I guess with high input lag?) then I'm not too bothered tbh as long as it's not a noticeable lag.

As you guys can tell I'm not great at the whole TV thing so would like some help and clarification regarding the above. My budget is £400 max but ideally I'd like to spend £300.

I've seen this Samsung TV at Argos but can't see where I can find out input lag? Could anyone help with this and also help with the questions above so that I can find a good TV at a good price that suits my requirements?

Samsung TVs have a Game mode which resolves any lag issues.

But pretty well obsolete now, and poor for gaming because of screen burn - although OK once it's well run in.

when your over 40, it doesn't make any difference as your reactions are so rubbish

However get a tv that supports 60Hz for GAMING

All modern TVs support 60Hz.

Very true - it's part of the HD Ready specification - although almost all sets supported it long before then.
