Hi
Looking for a new TV but using google can be very annoying.
I was looking at a VIERA TX 48AS640E on some sites for £500.
But seems to be an import from Europe
Another I might just be able to get is the sony 42w706 just in my price range and from Argos or Currys so least you know its dispatched from UK.
I had a 50 inch LG plasma before but want an LED now.

Sony TV's are pan-European, so it doesn't matter - however, Panasonic are country specific, so you need to get a UK one if you want a Panasonic.

google search came up with these
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/led-tv/pan...2157176-a.html
And
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis...&condition=new
Over £500 is to much though.
Need to buy one quick as not got a TV.
Sucks there is not a richersounds in Colchester or Ipswich as some decent prices there.

That's non-UK, it's French (and part of Currys).

Don't mind getting refurbished as long as no marks on screen to.

Currys sold it in September 2013 to a German company.

More importantly, Pixmania is receiving poor reviews.

Agrred but not claimed it was. All Pixmania orders are supplied from France. You would hope they would supply UK models to the UK market though.

They never seemed to when they were owned by Currys

Going from Plasma to LED/ LCD was a huge step for Panasonic to do, I love my 50" Pannys and they are both THX certified.

That's what most of those reviews are referring to.

I wouldn't bother with Sony as I think they seem to be slightly behind with their TV's , and I used to be a huge fan of theirs.

LG , Samsung and Panasonic are who I would aim at.

When you are going to the 500 model to 520 and beyond, you are getting 6 month old panels cheaper as technology marches on; you have to decide at what point you have got the features you want to have and can live without the newer ones.

For myself I can live without Smart TV functions, its Picture Quality for me.

Sony and Panasonic are still far ahead of LG and Samsung, particularly in manufacturing quality and quality of service.

Sonys are still good Nigel, especially on service and their parts.

Its just Picture Quality I am talking about, and that's a personal choice.

Sound Quality doesn't really bother me too much, but it still matters a bit.

The Sony's we fit seem as good as anything else, and better than most?.

It's improved a little on more recent sets, but still crippled by no space.

OK currys have a
LG 47LB580V Smart 47" LED TV £450 which I could get tonight if in stock?
Or the SAMSUNG UE48H6200 looks OK on the ebay link.
I read LG might have better viewing angle but Samsung TV would be better in Night Time due to better blacks.
Can get a Sony KDL42W705 under £400 to from argos_outlet

Then google takes me to this site
http://teletastic.co.uk/
But don't think it can be trusted.
Should be banned from google search.

OK
Just back they don't have the LG anywhere in stock.
Though got the 42 inch Sony for £470 think it will look better in a brighter room to.

I don't know if its a con, however I got my Panny after hunting for them & it was delivered rather than pick up in store.

Currys direct is it ?

I cant remember ................ however try and stick to uk stores
