Getting a new phone? LG G3 or HTC One M8?

I'm due an upgrade on O2 and I am considering getting the G3 or M8. My only problems are is that the M8 is more expensive, but I don't like the G3's plastic body and the performance/software isn't as snappy as the M8. I also find the G3's software somewhat more immature? The M8 looks more sophisticated with the software and the hardware in general.
Battery life is also a top competitor too.

Which one shall I get? Has anyone got any experiences or opinions on any of them? Or is there any other phone that I should consider?

Thanks in advance.

Note 4 might be worth considering also. I would personally pick the G3 over the M8. Mostly for the camera as that is more important to me and I think the M8 is abit bulky and slipy for a 5 inch screen.

You have come up with about 5 reasons you prefer the M8. Would you really want to lumber yourself with a device for 2 years when you could have had the M8? How much is the difference?
If you are not bothered about the bigger screen or significantly better camera on the G3 then don't get it.

Not sure given your post why you're considering the g3 anyway

I have a G3 and my Mrs has the M8. The G3 with its latest update is much snappier than the M8 now.

Also ive just installed a leaked version of Lollipop on my G3 and its even faster.

In short, the G3 is a better phone imo.

I'd be tempted with the LG G3 (I may change the launcher though if I had it to something like Nova (5 min job)).

I've posted this deal in another thread and could not believe how good a deal it was (I'd be tempted if my contract was up:

Here it is: http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/...filiate_future

The contract price is not too bad either (£24.99/month with the phone FREE). It's only 1gb of DATA if you can cope with that, but I guess you can pay say £5 extra per month to EE to get extra data?

The Op does prefer the look of the M8 hardware and firmware though.

Even though the specs of the LG phone are better I think I'd still go with the M8 because I prefer Sense and the metal body of the device.

And yet GSM arena managed better battery life out of the m8 than the g3.

I've also heard people say the g3 is laggy, again no personal experience with the g3 but you won't find lag on the m8.

I've had both phones in my hand and the g3 and m8 screens are about of equal quality IMO despite the difference in resolution, obviously the g3 has a bigger screen and bizarrely manages to be a smaller phone at the same time. The m8 feels and looks more premium.

Finally the audio quality of the m8 is noticeably better than just about every other phone out there whether you use headphones or speakers.

Both very nice phones but certainly not the one sided battle some on here seem to think - the m8 is still just as fast and just as nice in most respects, camera sucks though.

The lag on the G3 is mostly down to the LG launcher, which is pretty crap. Just stick Google Now on it, job done.

There aren't so many nice fonts to choose from and some pretty tacky, Korean, themes but otherwise it's fine. The camera is better, but the audio isn't.

If you want speed, good camera and good audio, why not look at the Xperia Z3 (or even the Z2 which now has the latest software update giving all the Z3 features). You'll then add in water resistance to the mix, and get (IMO) the best UI with very minimal changes over stock Android.

Otherwise, I'd personally go with the G3. Much as BoomSound is awesome, I rarely played audio on the phone directly so it was a feature was probably least important most of the time.

A new HTC is available soon called the Eye. Same specs more or less than the One m8 but plastic instead of metal. It's major advantage though should be the price.
