All of this controversy offers nothing more than media pr for the show.

The show is so diabolical this year and losing public interest, they needed Paul to leave in a controversial way in order to get something to talk about.

Whinge Whinge Whinge. Bleh. Getting fed up now of Paul. Be honest he's not the best performer but I did give a vote as I didn't think he deserved to go over Stevi or Jay. It was the public who didn't vote - yeah maybe they fell for manipulation or w/e but I doubt it.

It's the XF - it was a choice and he must know what the shows like? I swear I don't know one person who believes this show is what they show us. The fact that he was shocked, pulling the faces, crying and all that just shows to me that he thinks he was better than he is (yes he's better than Jay and Stevi - but it was public who liked them better).

Now he's throwing blame to Louis - like many on here - but so what. If you knew they were screwing you over or w/e then you should've proved them wrong. This is Simons show, you go on and follow the program, Simons says, you do. Morally right and all that? No but this is a quick fix, it's shouldn't be easy and you've already had it a lot easier than most of the famous singers in the world who have worked so hard without an entertainment show. Stop moaning.

So do you think if the public gave Paul more votes than Jay then the judges would have voted 2-1 in favour of Jay instead of taking it to deadlock? That would have meant that Cheryl would have had to send home Paul and would make no sense considering she doesn't like Jay.

When will people like you stop making these remarks when the idea of having the sing off is to keep the best singer in the contest. The judges are there to do a job and Louis copped out just to keep Simon happy. How does Louis have the cheek to say that Paul has been one of his favourites in the competition but then voted to keep Jay when Paul was the better singer and should have stayed. Why do you think so many people are angry that Louis did not do his job properly and what he is there to do?

Yes Paul did not get enough votes on the night but it often happens when somebody like Paul is a good singer and people think he is safe so vote to save others that they think might be in trouble. The majority of people know that Paul sings better than Jay and Paul should have stayed, hence the anger! Louis is an idiot, simple as that! Paul was stitched up by Simon and Louis and both should be sacked!!!!

It's not delusions, it's the manipulation and stitch ups from Simon and Louis that gets up people's noses. It happens every year and sickens me and many others to the stomach, hence why I will never waste my money voting and only uses the free app to vote now.

When a judge goes personal on a contestant, like Simon on Paul, Cheryl on Daniel, Tulisa on Misha, they're always in the bottom two the week AFTER the comments were made. Obviously when viwers give a contestant a sympathy vote, they'll be like 'I won't bother now' the week after. That's how the game works

Thanks footygirl, I think so many of us are so incensed with seeing Simon and Louis messing with young people's dreams. If they think this is going to raise their viewing figures they can think again. Because people will turn off in their droves and the voting figures will drop drastically. It is so sickening watching Simon sit there smugly bragging that he still has 4 contestants left in his category too, even more reason why it's annoying that Louis took it to deadlock and the best singer going home!

I think things have gone too far now, which means it no longer fits my idea of an entertainment show. I actually enjoyed last years series. But this year it has gone too far

To be honest Paul has had to cracks at the whip now, and has come up short i am afraid, so it is time to move on. Maybe he could apply for The Voice which may give him a bit more chance.

Darcy hello mate

But this is your opinion because you a fan.Paul could have been the better singer if it was The Voice. In terms of the XFactor,he is nowhere near being of star quality and he is not a performer. The decision didnt go your way but even if I had been Loius I would have called deadlock and put it to the public vote.I dont see much difference between Jay and Paul tbh for Louis to send Jay home.Whatever Jay lacks in voice can be made up in performance and star quality ie the XFactor.

He's off the show and he still cant stop whingeing. Nothing's ever his fault either.

There are a few average singers on the show, but at least the others have a bit of fun. He's like a black hole of misery.

I wish people would stop whining about people whining about the results. He lost because he was put in the death slot, was intentionally given a bad edit, got a despicable personal attack from Simon and Luis did not do his job. Any other singer in the same circumstances would have lost the public vote.

Paul and jay are both boring performers and both quite good singers. Neither is fantastic. I thought jay was best in the sing off. When it comes down to it, Paul lost in the public vote. He obviously can't be reinstated. Everyone who voted would have to be refunded. People need to use common sense and stop getting incenced because their favourite goes out. Is the concept if competition so difficult to understand?

So where did you hear that? On the show? Did it come out of Cowell's mouth? Yes of course it did. Those of us who know that the stuff that comes out of Cowell's mouth can influence public perception of a contestant and consequently affect their vote thank you for proving our point.

Cheryl on Daniel? Do you mean Dannii on Danyl?

The only one called Daniel when Cheryl has been a judge is Daniel Evans - and it was Simon and Louis who slated him (Louis said he looked like Ricky Gervais)

Never mind. Paul can probably stay in showbiz if he goes on the road as a Meatloaf tribute act.
