Cheryl's latest has sold 82,000.
Mr blobby sold 576,000. Much much easier to get to no 1 these days On these figures I'm surprised Mr Blobby hasn't been sitting on the X Factor Panel for the last several years. There again he had to much personality and charisma and would have shown the other Judges up.

Sometimes a Poster hits it on the Head and these figures show just how the Market has changed and how little in effect (despite X Factor immense promotion) She has achieved.

That's your opinion, I suggest you find out then who buys her downloads and her records. With 80,000 odd sales somebody is buying them!!!!!!!! You cannot take her 5 number 1s straight in away from Cheryl as much as you might like to!
For those that will never experience the physical reality, its a bit like explaining to a Blind Person the difference between the colours red and blue let alone indigo and violet. All credit to Cheryl to have the Face and connections to make it work in todays Reality. She can't sing though and would be unlikely to win even a Pub Singing Contest and certainly would not get anywhere on The Voice as the Judges would have their backs to her. |

Yes, what people forget as well is the fact that Cheryl is such a great performer and looks so good and she's what all young girls aspire to. Basically Cheryl has the whole package and she can sing but just not the greatest singer. Plus the majority of her songs are catchy and good dance songs so really appeals to the younger generation.
Cheryl is a 2nd rate pop star who cant actually sing. Who only became famous, because she beat up a toilet attendant, married a footballer who cheated on her. Why should anyone aspire to this

There is so much tuning on her voice in the latest single there is only one part where she sings "true" and she wouldnt even pass the room auditions with a voice like that.

That's the problem isn't it just press a button down it comes no effort. Bit bored press another. It is what it is today. In the past now gone you had to make the effort to go to a real Record Store, but while there you could leaf through hundreds of records and listen to some, go with your friends etc.

I do feel sorry for those who actually won't ever experience this. I remember going to the huge HMV on Oxford Street to see what imports (if any) they had in and the excitement of saving for them... |

Why was she chosen out of thousands for Girls Aloud then?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpWus7NUeyY She was an average singer, and had she not been attractive, she probably wouldn't have got anywhere near the live shows. Ironically, Nicola Roberts almosts didn't make the live shows because she wasn't considered attractive enough! |
