Well this place is hilarious today - 'tragedy' 'travesty' 'scandal' being thrown around.

I think Jay is bloody gorgeous and has a rich, very listenable voice. Paul, on the other hand, is (for me) a weaker, less attractive version of what we already have in Ben Haenow (hey now).

I much preferred Jay's performance in the sing-off.

At the end of the day, he got more votes. Suck it up.

Jay is much more of XFactor material. The XFactor is more than just a voice. While Paul was a good vocalist,he was out of his depth with everything else and didnt show any adaptability whatsoever.

Jay has been one of the more interesting performers this series, doing different things to songs that could have been karaoke. Saturday's performance was his weakest, but he had been ill 24 hours before, so it's understandable. I think all the hatred towards him on here is really unfair.

Paul has a good voice, but apart from Halloween week, I found him really dull and lifeless.

Hurray for patsy. I agree. This place is like David Icke's forum today.

I'd never vote for Jay (I never vote anyway and he's not my favourite) but I liked his sing-off too, it was emotive. Plus he's lovely to look at, quite sexy and I could see him having a James Blunt MOR type career that appeals to older types, i.e. not my bag but people like James Blunt soooooo...... Btw, (and it helps to imagine me saying this in Louis' voice) he reminds me of a better looking Kevin Costner.

I do think Jay was better than Paul in the sing off. I also catch the similarities between Paul and Ben, they have a similar look and style of singing even, but Ben does seem to be the stronger of the two. I thought Jake was similar too. This could split the vote between those that like a similar type of singer, too.

I do think Paul was better than some of the others still there, and can see why he would be upset.

I much preferred Jay in the sing off. I thought he was so much better. I had a feeling Paul would be in the sing off this week, as sadly his performance was forgettable which I don't think was his fault it was the rubbish songs Mel has been giving him every week. Mel is a good judge but she can't pick songs. It is a shame Paul went this week.

I liked both Jay and Paul. I didn't think either should've been in the bottom two. I can't really buy Paul having no oomph or whatever it is he's meant to be missing, because to me, Lauren is the same. Good voice but little else going on on the stage. I actually found Lauren much more duller than Paul.

I was glad Jay stayed, but I didn't want Paul to go either. There are other acts on the show who I think are poor compared to them and this to me meant I wasn't happy either were in the bottom two.

I agree that Jay is vocally alike to Ben, but Ben has the husky thing going on too. So I do feel while people still vote to keep in the pants act, Jay will be up next week and will most probably go. I hope he doesn't but he does seem to be the next one they'd quite happily get rid of.

I preferred Paul's sing off performance. That said, I thought Jay did really well in his. It was actually the first performance of his that I've liked.

I prefer jay too. Paul is boring and he won't have a career in the charts. I'll come back and east my hat if he does

I know yours is a troll post but jay will be out soon. Ben will last longer because they have decided he will get good vt edits and not bad ones like they gave Paul. It is now a competition to find the second best singer.

And Jay will? He's already had a shot at it. It didn't work last time around, why should it this time?

Jay is a good singer, but limited compared to Paul, and it shows every time. The same can be said of Ben. I actually like Jay's tone a lot, but he is nowhere as technically good a singer.

Paul deserved to stay, but since he didn't,and Jay stayed, I still am looking forward to hearing Jay perform again.

How ridiculous. Someone doesn't share your view so they must be a troll.

I agree OP. I much preferred Jay in the sing off. I don't really like the song Clown and I found Pauls performance of it a bit of a mess and rather soulless. Paul has a good voice but I find him a bit 'singing by numbers'. All the notes are in the right place but he just doesn't connect imo.

I like Jay when he does the more dance influenced tracks. Week one was his best by a mile and I think that's the genre he should go for imo rather than the ballads

Only the OP knows for sure if it was a troll post and they've decided to keep a low profile since writing it.

I didn't say jay would...but all the moaning about Paul is annoying. He came last in the votes and he wouldn't have done well in the charts anyway.

I'm sure hell now go on to do fairly decently out of it

I was underwhelmed by both and wasn't bothered.

Paul had some dodgy notes, Jay wasn't perfect.

When I was asked who I would save, I went for Jay. Although I'd be happy to see him leave next week.

The real talent were outside the bottom 2.

I don't understand why some people feel the need to put one or the other of them down just because they were directly competing.

Paul is technically the better singer. That doesn't make Jay anything less than a good one.
Jay is more at ease and natural a performer. That doesn't mean Paul is boring.

Really good post and I think neither Jay or Paul have had good songs. Jay has an amazing voice and it is not been shown off. I wish he would just sing the proper melody with his voice and not change it up. There is no need to do if you have talent

Yes, of course Paul was better but this thread is where the small minority who think jay was better hang out.

Jay will be out soon even without the bad edits or the despicable personal insults from Simon that Paul had to put up with.
