When Will Someone Have A "Moment"

I would have thought someone would have had one by now. I suppose OTY did with Monster Mash, but I suspect there's betetr to come maybe from them. Nbody has had a proper Alexandra Burke 'Candyman' moment though or Leona 'Summertime'.

You could maybe argue Fleur had one this week, but I wouldn't say so personally. She proved she's a good singer but, she wasn't outstanding. Lauren seriously needs one in the next week or 2. That was why I think Ella ended up in the bottom when she did. She never had a performance that was so significantly better than her previous ones that it all just stagnated by week 7. Lauren will go the same way if she doesn't pull something showstopping out soon.

Was 'Monster Mash' a moment? It certainly didn't feel like one.

Stevi doing phantom of the opera was his moment.

Just shows the dire standard of this series really if Monster Mash is considered one of the "moments"

Andrea maybe had one in the first week with Earth Song. Paul had one with his sing-off performance but unfortunately his card had already been marked as we all know.

Otherwise there haven't been any. A few competent performances but way too many off-key exercises in pitch-tolerance.

Agree op about Leona and Alexandra. Would also add to that Joe's Don't Let the Sun Go Down on me. You see proper singers give their absolute all and more and rightly they receive a standing ovation. There has been no OMG moment this year at all. I have been completely underwhelmed. Cannot stand that the music is drowning out everything. The aforementioned didn't even need music.

I did love OTY's Monster Mash though.

Yes for him, however, it was an insult to Andrew Lloyd Webber and the amazing people who have brought these classics to the public by singing and emoting the song in the way it should be.

Again, Scowell turned a classic into a farce using one of his *** licking puppets. Shame on him!

He marginalised an amazing piece of music in the way he has succeeded in marginalising the UK music Industry.

There was one at about 8.45 Sunday night. Unfortunately the guy was packing his bags three hours later.

Hey Ho - that's X factor for you.

If Paul's best 'moment' was his sing off, then he left it too late. He should have done better when it mattered.

OTY had Monster Mash in their collection and have played their Ace early. Too early.

I am betting others have their favourite tunes locked away to be brought out when they need to kill it.

Stevi had his best moment with Queen. I can't see him topping that.

Yes possibly Monster Mash because it was polished and well-rehearsed. But usually you get those goosebumps at some point. There isn't really a singer this year who has done that for me. I'm feeling that the acts are being given the same, unimaginative songs. With the right song, Lauren would have a moment.

Monster mash was excellent, it's the closest thing we've had so far.

Fleur was okay this week, if she was a better singer it would have been a "moment". The song and the choir carried her, rather than the other way around.

Fleur was just outstanding last Sat. Just loved watching her performance.

Sorry but Fleur just doesn't pass muster as a singer. Very weak.

She looks good and prances around the stage to suit many, but she is not an amazing vocalist.

The person who has had moments and stood out for me is one young lad in SK. What a shame he has been presented in wrapping paper. He is best on his own. He is there to offer credibility to an 8 piece act that just doesn't do him justice. Would go so far as to say he is the best male singer this year.

Actually just watched Monster Mash again, it seemed like Louis had been sidelined and they came together as their own group. Loved it

Funny how this was the only song choice he actually had ownership of! Maybe he'd have had his moment sooner if he hadn't been made to sing songs which so obviously didn't suit him.

Of course you did. But that doesn't contribute anything to this discussion, does it?

I think they've tried to do a "moment" many times so far this series. I think Andrea at bootcamp was one, and "Monster mash" is the closest we've had in the live shows. Lauren, Andrea and Ben have it in them to muster one up. Fleur's pissed her chances up the wall last week - if she cant make that song happen, she won't be able to again.

I think that the only moment Lauren will have is when she leaves the show.

Sorry, but you are totally wrong on this point. Fleur was pure class, which is why viewers voted for her in huge numbers.
