Coffee Mate, Do you use it?
Just started using this today, though have found 1 heaped teaspoon is enough 2 makes it too rich in my opinion.
What do you think? |

I haven't had it for ages but I did think about it recently because I've decided to give up dairy produce for a while to see if it helps with eczema
I got some powdered skimmed milk to put in the cupboard in case cracked and absolutely had to have a milky coffee........but Coffee Mate did cross my mind a few days later Is it made of milk ?.........my memory is that it was milk-free and made from some form of vegetable fat I remember it being quite nice and creamy...... |

There is a light version as well although I haven't tried it. Its also quite reasonably priced in the supermarkets.

I'm using it until I get round to buying a little fridge for my office.
I do quite like the taste. |

It's all I use in coffee. It's got to the stage where if I use milk it tastes off!

I haven't had Coffee Mate for years and years. I keep the small 10g milk pots of Carnation in the cupboard for emergencies. They're just under £1 for 20 in B&M and Home Bargains. No good for tea though as it's condensed milk.
I also buy Elmlea Single and keep that in the fridge. The Best Before date is usually 3 or 4 months into the future and it'll keep a lot longer than that. It's cheap in Asda, Iceland and Heron Foods, 65p, and indulgent (and lower in fat than single cream) with coffee, ground coffee that is. I don't drink instant, well only occasionally as a milky coffee when I feel like dunking toast. |

I used to use it but then when onto double cream as I cut out all processed food.
Now I have coffee with butter and coconut oil in and its amazing. ![]() I only have one coffee a day now as for some reason that one coffee gives me a lift for most of the day rather than just wake me up. |

As to Coffee Mate, I used to have it years ago but when I tried it again more recently I thought it tasted vile so I threw it away.

I use Prinsen Coffee Whitener, usually 99p at Home Bargains or Quality Save stores. It's a far better product
than Coffee Mate, because it's about half the price, but more importantly than that, it isn't a Nestle product. |

Wish you could get Koffie Melk in the UK. Much nicer than Coffee Mate.

That's what they call bullet proof coffee isn't it?...I keep meaning to try that as I'm on a low carb diet. I use double cream in my coffee at the moment.
As to Coffee Mate, I used to have it years ago but when I tried it again more recently I thought it tasted vile so I threw it away. ![]() I just use this one ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/15129...f14=108&ff19=0 You will find it cheaper in Asian shops. It does not have any taste or smell.. I used to us all the "correct" stuff and it cost a fortune but now use normal butter, normal ground coffee and that coconut oil and there isnt any difference in my mood or my health. ( posted that on a bullet proof website, to help others who were struggling with money, my comment was removed) Its really great as it gets my fats up high. with a coffee high that lasts for hours.. as it doesn't have carbs it keeps you in fasting mode longer. The coffee isnt oily or fatty its just creamy and lush.. it has to be blended though. |
