Hi,

I have 2 questions actually that I'm hoping you clever guys can answer

I subscribe to the brilliant UnblockUs & it's a godsend, my questions re this & Apple TV are my friend & I are both subscribers & we have both changed the DNS settings on our Apple TV's she has the Now TV app showing on her Apple TV but I don't.

I do however have loads of US TV channel apps including Smithsonian etc College Basketball & Football apps that she doesn't have at all on hers.

My Apple TV was bought from the Apple Store here & hers was an American import. Why don't I have the Now TV app?

My second question is about Hulu, what is it, where do I find it & what's on it? I only have the Hulu + app which I obviously can't use since I haven't got a U.S. iTunes account

I can live without the Now TV app as its on my Youview anyway but I'm confused as to why I don't have it & the Hulu question is because I hate to feel like I'm missing out on something good

Thanks in advance gents

Now TV app is available when the ATV is set to the UK iTunes store location, or you are signed in with your UK iTunes account on the ATV.
This isn't available in the US, hence why you don't see it, but instead see US apps, as you have changed the iTunes store location to the USA.

Hulu+ is the subscription service of Hulu. You can access some free content on Hulu via the computer using Unblock-us.
I'm not certain how much is free as I subscribe to Hulu+ anyway.

Its easy to sign up for Hulu via the ATV, but you do need a US iTunes account to pay for the subscription each month which is $7.99.
I fund my US iTunes account by purchasing US iTunes card for either 25, 50 or 100 dollars.
You get emailed the code which you just redeem in your US iTunes account.

The website address for Hulu is http://www.hulu.com/
You can even get a 7 day free trial of Hulu+ worth trying out

There is plenty to watch on Hulu, lots of new content from both ABC and Fox, plus they have a huge back catalogues of TV series.
I used to think Hulu was a bit rubbish at first, but its grown on me and I watch it loads now, almost as much as Netflix.

As c00kie says it's just a matter of changing iTunes Store location, and as long as you've not signed into your own iTunes account you can have access to any region you like.
UK selection is pretty poor IMO, NowTV doesn't interest me so I keep mine set to US store.
Some of the U.S. apps require you to sign into a TV provider to access content, but for the likes of Watch ABC you can watch any unlocked content which is a week after air date via AirPlay from and iPhone or iPad as long as you have the Watch ABC app that is.
Currently I'm watching Gotham which surprisingly is unlocked and only has one advert break via Fox Now which is a couple of weeks ahead of what's on Ch5 and is in HD which is a bonus as I only get Ch5 SD via Freeview & Freesat.
Something else I'm using AirPlay for is using The CW app to watch Arrow and The Flash.
