She gave exclusivity for the entire borough of Westminster to a tiny shop for a measly sale of 6 board games at £16 each (total £96) even tho Hamleys and all the big retailers are in Westminster

I was making excuses for her thinking that maybe she was from Birmingham or somewhere far but turns out she's from London itself

and she claims to have her own personal branding co and is a stylist for Westfield London shopping centre

this must be one of the stupidest decisions I've seen on the show

To be fair (being extremely generous actually), she did clarify that she got "borough" confused with "postcode". If she'd given them the exclusivity for the postcode, that would still have been an outrageous decision but not a catastrophic one. Most of the city centre would be out of bounds but I believe she could have gone south of the river, and also a lot of the general area would still be available. An inexcusable error nonetheless and Hamleys would still be out of bounds, but that was her explanation.

As it was she gave them exclusivity for Westminster which covers virtually the whole retail industry of Central London. There was no excuse for her not realising this as surely they must have discussed terms with the trader. IMO this should have been the first instant firing regardless of the victory. It was one of the biggest mistakes anyone's ever made on the show and I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it. Especially as it came right after a similar error the week before (the "you're the last people we're seeing line") which had the exact same effect of bringing all sales in the task to a screeching halt.

It wasn't Westminster, it was "West minister"

Yes, that pronunciation was bizarre! Perhaps that's how some black people say it. Can't say I've heard it pronounced like that myself and I'm from London.

Apparently that pronunciation is not unusual:

I've always pronounced it West-minister and I didn't know it wasn't spelt that way until I said the word to my partner last year. He laughed at me for it but the other two people with us during the conversation also pronounced it West-minister. It's very common!

I doubt if it's 'very common', except amongst a particular ethic group. Like people who say 'arks' when the word is quite clearly 'ask'.

How could you not know that it's Westminster? have you never seen it written down before and thought 'hang on a minute'?

It sounds like that is a totally different town, in the US, but with the same pronunciation confusion.

As far as know, black people speak the same language as the rest of us. It was just wrong. Nothing to do with race.

Solomon and Sanjay were also there with her and should have stepped in at that point and prevented her from making such a serious blunder .

Don't know what possessed her to make such a mistake when they would have bought the 6 games anyway .

She does seem a bit desperate making a similar blunder last week .

house rules, 1 person leads the pitch, you dont contradict their pitch and butt in.

Anyway, Bianca is an aweful, desperate sales person, shes doing everything and anything to get a sale.

SHe told the bus tours that the group was the last person she's seeing and gave the buyers a huge bargaining chip. Sold around 10 tickets for £40 - seriously underpriced.

THis episode she signed off exclusivity for just 6 items.

She's desperate for a sale, so she's panicking and undervaluing their worth in order to get something;

Those two issues will not go unnoticed and when her head comes to the chopping block in the board room these issues will be raised.

I just want to grab her, hold her down and cut her a fringe urgently.

On another note, she is an extremely poor candidate. If I had to choose one to hire for my business, she would be last.

Is she quite tall or are some of the men quite short?

Nonsense . If they were a real company and I was in charge you can bet I wouldn't let any of my employees made such a costly blunder .

If I was in James's place I'd have phoned the company and told them my employee did not have permission to give exclusivity and the deal was off .

I think that perhaps she was overly competitive with James and when hearing that he set up an exclusivity deal with another buyer she couldn't stand the thought of him getting one up on her, and as a consequence her judgement was clouded and she had to set up an exclusivity deal too?

Nah, I'm not buying that, she just tried to save face in the boardroom, she ****ed up and she knew it. No ones going to confuse the word 'borough' with the word 'postcode', especially not an apparently keen business minded 25 year old businesswoman

Also for telling Young children to say 'willy face' she is a twit alright, imagine if that was one of the blokes

I'm dubious. That sounded more like the best excuse she could come up with in the boardroom. What was clear was that she believed she had made a really clever deal that would keep her safe for the week until she spoke to James on the phone and had the magnitude of her error pointed out to her.

I do accept it may well have been a slip of the tongue on her part, but it was careless in the extreme and she should have realised her error and corrected it on the spot. And if she simply wasn't aware how big an area Westminster covered she should never have agreed to the offer without checking it first.

And, fair enough, the house rule is you don't interfere with one of your teammates' pitches. (As if that's ever stopped anyone ...) But equally if you observe them making a potentially task-losing error, you don't just stand by and say, "well, them's the rules".

No excuses. If Summit had lost, Bianca was toast - not least because this wasn't her first cock-up in a sales negotiation.

While we like to make fun of James, at least he had the common sense to step out of the shop and confer with the over sub group over the exclusive deal he was offering. Bianca obviously has no business brain and just jumps in with an offer, without even taking a "side bar" to discuss it with the other 2 with her.

2 weeks running she's done this.

I think this was a big part of it, plus the sudden "ker-ching!" notion of sealing the deal with postcode-exclusivity, except that she was completely blinkered about it and didn't consider the small order/big area factor... likewise all she cared about in the coach trip fiasco was making the sale, and she thought "you're my last chance" would get her some sympathy with the buyers, but it just weakened her negotiating position...

I'll be (very) generous and say she's keen and wants to be liked, but needs to count to 10 (or 100!) before saying anything to a buyer...

Sorry I just have to say that she said "winning face" as in "show me your winning face"

I imagine she would hate it if just one person seriously thought she had actually said "willy face" to a child!!

It seemed to me that Bianca was determined to show that she - and she alone - was responsible for nailing a good sale, hence conferring with the others was never an option in her mind, as that could have been taken as it being a team effort. Of course, she achieved the opposite - landing herself with the sole blame for her gaffe.

lol 100%, I've seen it twice. Also the girl definitely did a "winning face" when Bianca said that. It didn't even cross my mind that she said willy haha, I heard winning and it makes sense in the context of playing a board game.
