I don't consider that dancing.

The Strictly dances are the traditional 10 dances, Charleston, Salsa and AT. Of those, I can do the syllabus steps in the 10 dances and some basic salsa with glasses causing no issue whatsoever. The AT, as has already been pointed out, may be an issue, but I think basic Charleston would hardly be a problem either - the actual technical dancing involves no cartwheels whatsoever!

Interesting points - thanks everyone. It was really just a question. I can see that there would be the odd routine on Strictly where you could, in theory, wear glasses, but as they veer off towards showmanship I am less sure it's advisable. As we hardly ever see glasses on the main show, I wanted to explore why that might be. Lots of different answers, so thanks.

I still think the majority of routines would be ok with glasses.
Thought varifocals might not be a good idea

Actually, thinking about it, Tim Wonnacott wore a monocle for his charleston which I would have thought was far more difficult to manage than a pair of specs.

Well, one thing's for sure : no-one will need glasses for tonight's show. It looks like a monster of a show with everything oversized to the nth degree. Not entirely sure if it will work though ! Judy and Anton's routine looks as though it's from another show altogether. Pixie looks unrecognisable in her costume and Pasha has the costume of the night.
