I was just wondering do you like them or think tat they worked well with 12?

I know the were popular in 11's time, but a lot of people don't seem to like them now at least based on other forums.

I must admit I don't think they work with 12. They were good in 11's time but not so much with 12 he is too serious for them.

I think it might be quite good to give 12 his own gang or family of people to work with like the UNIT family from Pertwee's time or the Paternoster gang I think any of these choices would be good for 12's family can you check this out http://t.co/xJ2nnouAHJ

I think you're right - they worked much better with eleven. I'm thinking, if they are to return, it should be in their own spin off show.

No. Never. Unless it's to see them horribly killed off.

I would like them back for one more episode to give them an ending, they could have Missy as the villain. I don't mind them and think they have had many great moments but I would have the gang dying by stopping Missy's plans...sorry

Strax definitely forget the other two. I think strax would be a hit on the old parkinson show on bbc1 saturday night before match of the day.

I could have done without seeing them in 11's era, let alone with 12. I found them cartoon-cringeworthy and had no emotional connection with them at all.

No, no. I don't dislike them but I also don't really see the appeal. They've also had the misfortune of appearing in mostly disappointing episodes.

Just think. Strax instead of parky with rod hull and emu!

Yes as a Back-Door Pilot for their own spin-off (with occasional crossovers too)

Maybe one more appearance and then goodbye.

I agree, they worked better with Eleven...

Strax, maybe but not the women, I really never quite got the appeal.

Once more with a Sontaran invasion of Victorian London. - Strax the (eventual) hero.

Must be in the minority, again, I quite like them

Yes! They are great. Strax was the best part of Deep Breath!

Also, spin-off would be very good idea.

Not really. I can't say I like them all that much.

I don't mind them.

I actually preferred them in Deep Breath than in any of 11's episodes.

I LOOVE them....good Man goes To War, Snowmen, Crimson Horror, Name, Deep Breath were excellent episodes and LOVED having them there fighting by the Doctors side...I adore that steampunk vibe and feel in their stories and would adore them back...was a bit gutted they didnt come back in Series 8...but alas...Would love them in Series 9 and then their own spin off show ran by gatiss on BBC Two...imagine the macabre and crazy cartoonish/Hammer Horrors they could face in their own series! And have crossovers too...have Capaldi in a storyline ....and then of coruse future meet ups.

That is what i miss...while the RTD era of Who was not necessarily a favourite of mine...i ADORED Sarah Jane Adventures and loved watching Torchwood...as it helped reinforce the parent series and allowed for crossovers and mentions

I have missed that since 2012 really... hopefully they will sort something out!

I like them. Season 7 finale wasn't too busy and it needed some supporting players, so why not those guys I figure. The Crimson Horror was a great story too, I think,
It was good to see them again this series, and I think they we used usefully to explore the Doctor's debut. They were good support, even if those ninja suits look a bit like look they have inbuilt nappies. They're at the their best scattered I think (like Crimson Horror) - it brings out more in them. Jenny was great in shouty solo scenes with Doctor, as was Vastra in her episodes. I think Vastra all lairy lizard lady against 12 would be good. They're all a bit bantery if they're together. It'd be nice if the Doctor turned up and most of them were out, so he just took Jenny because he was feeling impatient. She doesn't seem phased by futuristic surroundings or alien planets so bet she'd be okay with things. You could generally get away with a lot more in stories with her as she's a pretty human girl who people wouldn't question. Although I do enjoy Vastra explaining she's a lesbian lizard woman from the dawn of time to people, it could get tiresome in an episode meant to set a character aside from those dynamics and bring them out in their own right.

It would be nice to see them in some spin off capacity, but I don't know if they'd be able to sustain a full time show, or whether the Beeb would go. They should commission a cheap(ish) spin off along the longs of DW: The Day After that loosely continues the strands of an episode and its characters after the Doc and companion do one in the TARDIS. The production would be able to use any relevant sets before knock down, same with locations - film on top with guest guest concurrently for other scenes, me don't know. Anyway, you could splash some cash on familiar brands like the Paternoster Gang and do a retrospective one which could begin with the Doc from a previous episode or incarnation departing the scene leaving them on their own for a more independent adventure.

Yes, but not in the Victorian era, it ruins the scope for a good storyline.

One more story would be fine. Maybe a mid series episode.

I grew to like them, tbh. I thought they were one of the best things about 'Deep Breath' too. A spin-off would be great: set in Victorian London, solving crimes with an alien dimension. I'd watch it anyway.

I really liked them and I don't mind the Sontarans and Strax in particular portrayed as comedy relief. They're too good a setup to only use occasionally in Doctor Who itself.

It doesn't seem likely that they'll get a spinoff show, but if they did, my only concern is that the humour of Strax's constant misplaced militaristic and stupid remarks would rapidly wear very thin. The opportunity for the occasional crossover story, and even with Victorian Torchwood as well would be great.
