Things is whilst everyone is saying Fleur will kill it etc, the general public voting might think the same as a few on here that a) she has already done that and b) it is not in the them? She had better be good or it could hurt her tomorrow. I actually don't mind Fleu as a person or performer but the blatant pimping that is being given her does annoy me no end. I was looking at magazines in the shop today thinking mmm I wonder if there is an interview with Paul now he is out - fat chance it is all Ben, Andrea and Fleur and to a lesser extent Lauren. Gets on my wick and for about 3 weeks the top news story about a contestant was Fleur, Ben or Andrea (usually all three) on the main X Factor site. They couldn't be more blatant if they tried.

I reckon Fleur could sing Baa Baa Black Sheep in Latin whilst balancing an orange on her nose and you'd still think she was the best act of the night

Whilst I don't wish for Fleur to go out this weekend (and certainly not before Stevi), I do feel that some of you who have been unsympathetic to how Paul fans (and others) feel might just go into meltdown if it was to happen to Fleur, and call me sadistic if you wish, but I would kinda pay good money to see that Can you imagine on here - it would be a scream!

I don't know why you bother lol - we could have all guessed you would say that! As it is, it would be more newsworthy if you expressed concern for her.

That is called baiting/trolling, which is against the rules of the forum.
On topic though. Pretty apathetic about most of the songs choices. I'm not sure how to feel about Only The Young's. I loved the idea of Boom Clap, but that was a disaster, and I hated the idea of Don't Blame It On the Boogie, and that turned out quite well. I guess I'll just have to see on the day. |

I trust Simon knows what he's doing with the song choices. I can't imagine Jay singing 'New York New York'

Fleur's song choice completely avoided the theme..they clearly want her to excel...and im just like meh..if it's not better than the first time...I'm not going to be satisfied...

I didn't decide on themes at all - Simon did. What's the point in having themes if you can just sing any old song?
Disco theme - let's just sing Shake It Off by Taylor Swift wearing hot pants with a disco ball spinning overhead and a picture of the Bee-Gees on the backround screen. 80's theme - let's just sing My Humps by Fergie wearing shoulder pads and legwarmers with a stern looking chap playing a synthesiser in the backround and a picture of Alison Moyet on the backround screen. Do you see where I'm gong with this....? The problem is, the themes you are listing all have specific genres. Big band could literally be anything because it is legit what it says on the tin - a song accompanied with a big band arrangement. There is nothing to say Bang Bang can't be performed with a Big Band? Changing a song completely to contradict the theme OR Changing a song slightly to fit the theme and put on a big performance. I know which option I'd prefer... Quote:
Fleur is in trouble simply for the fact her judge's houses song was one of the few they played all the way through with no cute. We've heard her do the whole song before. Why do we need to hear it again?
I'm presuming she will change things up to A) fit the theme and B) Make it seem like a completely different performance! Quote:

Not sure how Fleur's song choice means that they're pimping her, as some have suggested, especially since it would inherently gather criticism before she's even sung it.
I'm looking forward to it though. That was my favourite Judges' Houses performance so I'm interested to see how they arrange it to suit the theme. Looking forward to Andrea's performance as well. |

Hardly. It's not like they're inciting it. Just saying they'd like to see the reaction..
If that's not baiting and trolling then I don't know what is. |

Fleur cheating the theme like she did with the 80's theme, how she's able to get away with it is beyond me.
Stevi has the best song choices for me as I like both songs. Yeah she should be axed for that. Lord... None of the other songs are 'Big Band' either...whatever that means |

80s theme - let's just take one of the most iconic 80s songs and slow it down so it is almost unrecognisable and takes away the whole spirit of the 80s theme, completely contradicting the point of the theme.

I think everyone has a definite picture in their minds of what a Big Band song is. Bang Bang is not a Big Band song. In anyone's definition. At least Mambo no. 5 and She Bangs have a latin brass feel to them (sort of) - Bang Bang is a straight out pop/R&B song with no relation to the theme at all.Anyway, I feel we shall have to agree to disagree on this one. I don't dislike Fleur, I just feel her song choice is a total cop out this week and it's slightly unfair on the others, most of whom have made the effort to learn a new song and have kept within the theme. |

I know which option I'd prefer... This is an incorrect statement. We only saw her sing 1 verse and rap 1 verse. We never saw the middle verse (which is sung by Ariana). Also, the chorus towards the end was cut out too. I'm presuming she will change things up to A) fit the theme and B) Make it seem like a completely different performance! So you are hating on the contestants purely for the fact that they are being interviewed for magazines whilst they are still in the competition, while your favourite act has already been eliminated and no longer has any ties to the X Factor? What are they supposed to say? "Thank you for offering to interview me for a well-known magazine where I can get my name out there and possibly gain more fans by getting publicity, but someone, as they do every week, went home last week, so I would prefer you to interview them instead'. ![]()

Regarding Fleur's song - if it is her Judges House song again, I hope she misses out the rap - as rapping does not fit Big Band at all.
Ask Miss Frank... |

Then again, Fleur is unarguably more popular than Miss Frank were at the time, so it may not damage her as much. I still think it's an awful choice of song given the theme, though. |

If I recall correctly, Miss Frank did a rap during Big Band week during their series and were sent home. It's not a good idea.

Another boring song choice for Lauren. Think the voters will get fed up of her soon.
Fleur will be the stand out tomorrow night |
