I used it for about a year before I realised it has its own built in freeview
channels.
I used to switch on my sky box and record tv using that.

Now I use the built in free view a lot but just realised... Im not getting
sky news 82 or rt 84

it shows channel 70 then jumps to chan 120

I hit 82 and it says prog not available.

I have freeview built into my lcd tv and get those channels in the 80s
no prob

Sky news is on 132, RT is on 135. Your TV is out of date and needs a retune.

They haven't really moved, what has changed is the channel number you tap into the remote. That is simply a pointer to the actual audio and video streams for the service. These haven't altered in any way so on the TV the tuning memory has the stream IDs stored in position 82 while your recorder has the identical stream IDs stored in position 132.

Many TVs etc allow you to move the channels around to any numbering plan you like. For example on my TV I have the HD versions of BBC1/2 ITV and C4 on channel numbers 1 to 4 and have swapped round the other HD channels as well.
