Of course he could

But then again, so could Jake, Pixie, Judy, Frankie, Sunetra, Caroline & Simon

Any of them COULD win

It's true any of them could win.

I think Mark has made the most noticeable improvements over the last few weeks. It really does feel like he has turned a corner. He could make it to the semis but I'm not sure he'll get to the final, there are other better dancers and considering he has been in the bottom 2 before not sure how popular he is.
I do like him. Never really knew who he was until the show but I've warmed to him and he comes across as as very genuine person.

Personally I think Mark is the one who is least likely to actually win. He's just too marmite. There's a lot of people who would actively vote against him when it gets down to the final two, which would favour anyone he's up against. I don't think any of the other contestants would have as big an anti-vote so I don't think he'd benefit in reverse.

Well not by me.

It's not a matter of how much - or how little - innate talent he may have to capitalise on the training he will have received, it's that he's being passed off as a complete beginner, no training, rank amateur.

I don't care who has, or has not, got past experience. I just don't like deceit.

Yes i think he could. Of the contenders i think he is the most improved. The three girls have plateaued from where they started and Jake isn't improving, looking like scott maslin and running out of steam. He's very marmite though but then so was abby last year and she finished strongest. Can't warm to pixie or caroline and frankie is a bit vanilla to me. I'd vote for him over the girls in a final as he started off the weakest.

Yawn at the stage school remarks. There's a whole thread on that already for all those keen enough to enjoy.

I've just said on another thread that I worry about Karen's choreography.
Mark seems capable of working hard to perfect most of what she can throw at him, but sometimes, particularly in the classic ballroom dances, he doesn't appear to get that much to do, or else the routine just looks a bit boring compared to others. Either way, I think Karen needs to push herself a bit with her choreography if she wants Mark to at least make the final.

Sure he can win, the best dancer hasn't won each year, so there is always hope for decent but not amazing dancers to win.

I'm definitely more likely to vote to keep him out than I am to keep other people in.

I don't vote but I would be tempted if it meant we could get Mark off the show.

His ego is out of control as it is if he won the show they would have to widen the doors to let him out imo.

Aaah...the lovely Chris Hollins...so lovely!

You're right, Mark has the appeal that just makes you want to like him. Seems like a nice guy who is trying so hard.

I'd love him and Steve to be the final two.

Good guys all the way the way this year please. Just a shame that'd mean Ola had made it too😫!

Are you yawning at the OP saying she wants Mark to win because he is doing amazingly for someone who hasn't had any dance training, or the person who replied to that point out that he has.

I don't mind a bit or prior experience, but the problem with Mark is that he's claiming to have no experience, and the judges seem to be going along with it. It's not fair on those who really do have no experience, or for those who are open about it.

And yes, it has all been discussed in other threads, but the OP obviously still didn't know, or wouldn't have got it wrong.

Militant voters who post on this forum are not really reflective of the public vote as a whole - I highly doubt it would cross most people's minds to vote tactically against someone because they don't like them.

Especially this year when there are a lot of decent dancers but no-one amazing.

Only if he avoids a dance off with any of the 5 that are better than him.

I don't mind Mark, but I don't like Karen at all!

She seems to think she's a lot better than she actually is, and some of her choreography is utter rubbish. I also don't like the way she has been treating Ola - the fact that she was forced to apologise to Ola for the bullying incident shows that there was some substance to the newspaper article, and someone put up a wonderful shot of Karen standing with a face like a slapped arse watching Steve and Ola celebrating a good dance/ comments in the Clauditorium the other week!

I'm so surprised by how much I've taken to him, because I thought I'd really dislike him and presumed he'd be an early casualty.

It would also be on in the eye to the odious Jordan's if Karen were to becoming a winning pro”

I agree about Mark's improvement & 'journey', it is nice to see the celebs getting better all the time and this is what has brought Mark to my attention. I judge each celeb by how well they have danced on that particular week. I loved Mark's charleston. But I recognise that Frankie & Pixie are extremely good. I think Pixie will win. Other than that, I cannot hazard a guess as to who will be in the final.

This! He would have to kiss Craig a lot to have a chance against any of the superior dances, especially the three young girls. Sunetra could beat him in a dance off if it was ballroom, and Steve could to depending on the dance. Those three are good but are the weakest left based on dancing ability, and Mark isn't as likeable as Sunetra or Steve in my opinion.

Do you think the judges are adjusting their scores based on prior experience or a lack of it?

My view is almost the opposite. I quite like Karen.

”

How can people not have know who Mark Wright was - even if you did not watch TOWIE, he was on IACGMOH a few years ago. He did not win (which shocked me as he was the Fav), but he came runner up. What surprised me was how good a loser he was. I was expecting him to throw his toys out the pram when he did not win but he was very gracious and seemed delighted for Dougie

It will be interesting to see where Mark ends up.
To me, he seems to be the J-word contestant at the moment unless any of the other "middlers" suddenly improve.
I think there is little crossover between TOWIE and Strictly and he may well be endearing himself to the Standing Ovulation voters who won't previously know much about him.
A twinkly charm and your Nan can take you quite far...
