I really like Pixie and Trent, but that was a seriously mixed up theme.

I thought it was a pro showdance from DWTS.

a mess up of a mash up, just a bit too much, and despite being obviously accomplished it sort of passed me by.

I wasn't keen on her pleather / bin bag dress.
Make up was nice though.

Thank you!!! I thought it was me going crazy as no one else mentioned it

What was it?

Really odd. And her dress was ghastly.

I spent the whole dance wondering what the gladiators were about? Why??????????????

I loved her hair though.

Yes, Trent is the best choreographer - he's definitely showcasing Pixie to the max.

lol my niece was asking me why the backing dancers were dressed like Russell Crowe

a rather disco-sounding Paso too

and Pixie looked liked Denise Van Outen ... in an emergency foil blanket

Managing to ruin Eve of The War for me is one heck of a feat, but Trent and Pixie managed it with ease.

Not a Paso, not a piece of music to dance too.

It takes skill to stuff up that bad.

The costume choice was questionable, I was looking forward to seeing her all hot and "ole" style in dress, but a shiny camp gladiator themed look was before me. The music felt a weird invasion too, but that choice is not her fault and she did her best with it.

Aside from the cheesy nightclub fancy dress look, the dance was thankfully the better aspect to behold. She needed far more shaping though, but the speed of the dance prob helped reduced that characteristic (not that that is an excuse as such).

It was amazing. I didn't really care that it was War of the Worlds, it was dramatic and I loved it

have to say, i am warming to him having originally found him ridiculously vanilla, the last couple of weeks have shown him to be a very able choreographer.

In fairness, Rome is a more dramatic setting for a paso than Woking. I'm not sure bringing Horsell Common to the dancefloor would have done much for the dramatic tension.

It was theatrical and great for Blackpool and the backdrop was fantastic too.

I loved it! I'm another one who's really enjoying Trent's choreography, which is innovative and expressive, although some of the moves reminded me of Kara and Artem's Phantom of the Opera paso.

I know all the dances looked a bit DWTS since they involved backing dancers and mega-props, but I guess they needed to fill the bigger space at Blackpool. That doesn't necessarily translate well to the small screen so the paso did look busier and perhaps messier than it could have done, but it was still my favourite dance of the night.

It was extremely odd!

Do the producers think the paso stems from ancient Rome???????

Very powerful, just as a paso should be.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one. Pixie is always a joy to watch and I love Trent's innovative choreography but this is the first week I haven't enjoyed their routine despite appreciating their skill

PS Didn't like her hair..

I loved the routine and think they danced it very well, but the whole production ruined it slightly for me. I was really looking forward to this as well, feeling a little bit let down

Didn't Martians land all over the world? So sure there must have been some near Rome.

Great dancing but just what were they thinking with that hair, that make-up, that dress, that theme?

Very confusing
Or was it the costume department that suggested the costumes?
Trent is gorgeous, but not quite the gladiator shape, he looked lost in that great big silly top.

Strange mix which was distracting

Great dancing though.

Hardly the most bizarre bit of theming that we've seen on Strictly for a Paso given there's been everything from Little Red Riding Hood to Starship Troopers. I'm sure the producers and costume department are aware by now that the Paso is Spanish and not Italian but the bloodthirsty nature of the colloseum isn't so different from the bull fight so I didn't think the theme was too big a stretch. Not sure what the connection between gladiators and War of The Worlds was supposed to be but I'd never heard the music before so it wasn't off putting for me and I just thought it was a suitably dramatic piece for a Paso.
