Best to Worst
Only the Young (thought they did great tonight. They are really starting to show their potential as a relevant group that could be popular in the US and UK. I think they have 4 good looks that are distinct from one another, which is a positive. Charlie really has star quality- and showcasing the 2 boys worked for the group this week, both vocally and performance. Also their performance/ dancing break in the middle worked really well for all four of them).
Ben (I think he has a solid all around voice as well as a very commercial look).
Lauren (Very solid voice and commercial look... But, she has got to find some energy if she ever wants a career... Which was how I viewed her tonight- sounded good, nice looking, but very very sleepy overall).
Stereo Kicks (They have to change their name- which couldn't be more outdated. Tonight was one of the 1st times I saw some potential in them... Maybe clean cut, Big Band/ Michael Buble is a good niche for them moving forward/ after XFactor. They definitely have some members that have great voices, and overall a sharp look for an 8 piece group. Their size however is also what makes it difficult, and what makes song choice and arrangement extremely important. But tonight was their best so far- both vocally & overall look & feel).
Jay James (I actually thought he sounded good tonight. He was obviously sick last week, and in my opinion is getting too much slack from people about last week. Everyone is going to have a bad week, and he has been good every other week. That said, overall he's a hard call for me. He has the potential to be a great recording artist, but probably for a specific target audience... sort of a male version of Susan Boyle regarding the audience/ demographics that would like him (in the US, this is sort of what used to be "the Oprah viewers").. the same group of people who also liked Kenny G, etc.
Fleur (I think she definitely has the star look and persona. I thought she did well tonight- Although I think the judges will watch it back and realize that it was vocally, not as strong as they thought. Hard call on Fleur- she has the persona, but is limited vocally- regarding having a shot at making it big internationally).
Andrea (He obviously has a great voice- but very fairly specific audience in my opinion. The performance tonight was good, but I found it overall ... uninteresting. Good voice, but not a sound that grabs me).
Stevie (He's had his fun- but its time to go. All of the remaining contestants have a shot at the finals, so it would be a mistake if Stevie made it thought another week).
