I have been a fan of Eastenders for many years and do agree that the past 18 months have not been the best highlights of its 20 year history.

What do we think should be done to bring it back to its popularity in its hay day, old characters or new ones developed a bit better:

I think:

1. Mitchell Brothers back and reunited, in a storyline that involves a feud with Johnny Allen.
2. A serial killer for Albert Square like Corrie. Maybe Nick Cotton returning with his final victim being his mum. Jim murders him in revenge.
3. The Ferreras return at Christmas to allow their Dad out of the kitchen cupboard in Mark Fowlers old house.

LOL.

But the Mitchell brothers WORKED for Johnny Allen in the past?? It's often been mentioned. Why would they have a feud?

God no, that is just as bad, if not worse than anything that has happend recently. Sorry to have a go at your ideas, but I just don't like them. At least you know you're qualified to wrote stories for EE as much as the current writers

Actually, I think a Jim story, helping Dot to end her life after the resurgance of cancer, reaffirrming she was the only one he truley loved and wanted to help, (at the end of his own life), would be totally poignant and touching in a deeply profound way, mirroring Ethel's passing, and would be the only way for June Brown to retire.

That would be goo, but not for some years yet....I'm not ready for Dot to leave. And after all, cancer can take many years to reapear.

I dunno, whilst Dot's exit from EastEnders in any capacity is bound to be a tear jerker, I think its a bit soon after Ethel.

The Mitchell's need to have a reason for feuding with Johnny Allen, they can't just have a feud for the hell of it.

I thought Johnny Allen had respect for the Mitchell's? He seemed that way with Billy once he found out who his family roots were with.

I didn't think that had been mentioned at all, there have been some cryptic references, but nothing definate, Johnny doesn't give much away (unlike the tabloids!) but i get the feeling that Johnny will not be pleased to see the Mitchells back and they definately won't be glad to see him owning half the square. I think he is making Billy his errand boy to get him on his side. We'll find out soon!
