Ben did badly, but I think that was largely down to the fact this style of music didn't suit his voice end of - hope he survives though
.....But what I did notice was a reversal of that process in Jay. First we get fed all the family stuff, the wife, the kid, the mum. Not only was he singing his mum's favourite song (not necessarily true-but even so) and then he wore his late grandfather's suit!!!!!
Following an at best, mediocre performance, which for me was actually pretty awful in places ( An insult to the great Frank Sinatra) even more relevant was an insult to Paul Akister who I reckon would have nailed that performance! Up chirps Simon....that was amazing yada yada your best performance yet. I don't believe he thought that at all, and had he been someone else's act, he would have torn them to pieces I reckon. He's subliminally trying to convince us that they did the right thing in letting Paul go last week!
