Posting on them to complain, only makes it worse!

You'd think this would go without saying and people would join in the effort to bump lower threads and move it down but nope, gotta get the moan in even if it means more people will see the spoiler.

We forgot to remind idiot boy. And I was doing so well bumping some older threads.

This thread seems to be more of a drawing attention too give away now than anything.

Actually it's not.
There is no spoiler at all in this thread.
Funny how you say to people who are intentionally posting spoilers that "it's ok", but criticise me

I didn't criticize your policing or say that anything was "ok", I just said that anyone can make a genuine mistake that's all, and that the apology was accepted.

That misses the point entirely though - the spoiler's apology thread also contained the spoiler, which ruined it for even more people than those who read their original thread. That's careless that really goes a bit beyond a genuine mistake, and is itself besides the fact that there was no need for a second thread to apologise - just alert the mods to the original thread and move on.

The second thread is now just being bumped by people seemingly for the fun of it, and every time it is bumped, the spoiler gets leaked to more people.

Sadly the mods do not seem interesting in deleting either thread.
What's the point of the alert button?

Should we ask this be removed as the problem has now gone?

To be honest, it seems that some people need to be reminded that going on a spoiler thread, perpetuates the problem

The official *SPOILER* thread is OK though.

That thread seems to be the original cause of the problem.

Once again you miss the point.

All spoilers or conversations about the result once known are confined to the one thread.

Rather than multiple threads about much the same thing being started - Hmmm wonder who is most guilty of that?

As I said without that 'one' thread the problem would not have arisen in the first place, don't discuss anything at all that has not been announced, and then there can be no sources of information to fuel the accidental premature leaking of results , its quite simple really and solves the problem, that's why the BBC ban mobile phones.

The people on this forum are usually remarkably public spirited about not posting anything spoiler-ish anywhere but the spoiler thread, if that thread didn't exist there would be spoilers or guesses pretending to be spoilers (which spoil things just as much as the real result being leaked) all over the place.

Like it or not, spoilers do seep out so there's no point hoping that nobody will post a spoiler anywhere. It's usually from people after they've left the studio and that's going to happen whether the BBC take their phones off them or not!

Without that 'one' thread it would only be guesses and hunches which is a different thing altogether, without that one thread discussing the premature result in detail the problem would largely be resolved, as I said before its a simple and positive action to take to prevent this from happening over and over again with information sourced from that 'one' thread.

How do you come to that conclusion?
If there wasn't a specific spoiler thread the result would be all over the boards as people would still want to know and people would still leak the information.
Your logic is flawed.

No there wouldn't. The bookmakers would ensure they got the correct result from somewhere simply to stay within the law for betting. So FACTUAL results would be posted willy nilly all over the place.

By having an ORGANISED and AUTHORISED SINGLE *SPOILER* thread the results are easy for people to avoid if they do not wish to know before the results show is broadcast.

Its a simple solution, this problem arises repeatedly every year with all the follow on moaning and name calling that results, without that 'one' thread the show can be discussed without these repeated problems, please do not misinterpret a genuine and viable solution.

They're all getting in on the action. Digital Spy have just published (and deleted) an article naming the eliminated couple. D'oh.
