I'm glad we agree on that point at least.

The assigned song often dictates the choreography. In this case the routine needed to have a different feel to it than the usual Brazilian-style Samba one associates with Pixie's song. Pasha choreographed a cool / elegant / stylish / "chic" Samba - and as you've pointed out, Caroline delivered the characterisation.

By a process of elimination - when you say Caroline failed to nail the routine and you were "amazed" she even made fourth on the leaderboard, you must have identified serious errors in her technique.

Would you mind listing for us some of the errors you personally identified?

Just to butt in here, but Stuart didn't say he was amazed she made fourth on the leaderboard - I think he was saying that coming fourth out of so many couples is an amazing achievement for anyone.

IMO, Pixie's Samba is still the best Samba of the series by some way. though it was helped by the wonderfully appropriate music. While Caroline's was of a very similar standard in terms of technique, it lacked some of the fun and sauciness of Pixie's and felt a little bland in comparison.

What Jamie said is exactly what I meant. It wasn't like she was in the bottom half of the leaderboard, she was still fourth which is great.

Mark/Simon Jake is so boring to watch. Even Simon is getting more interesting now.

Frankie unfortunately has a disadvantage Kevin is awful as a dancer and his choreography is pants.
Him along with Joanne and Karen should not return next year, all OTT.

Interesting how people respond so differently to performances.
I watched Pixie's samba three times this morning and I still don't get the enjoyment out of it that I would expect to,given the obvious ability and effort and commitment to performance that went into it.

I certainly do not get any saucy feelings

Kevin choreographs proper routines unlike Artem who just liked wafting around.

Thanks once again. Out of curiosity, when you say -

She was still fourth on the leaderboard, which is amazing

- how low does a celeb have to be on the leaderboard before it no longer amazes you?

For example - are you amazed every time a celeb, irrespective of how good was his/her performance, manages to avoid the bottom half of the leaderboard?

I think you're reading a bit too much into what I said, it was just a throwaway comment.

Apologies. Your observation -

Caroline didn't nail her Samba at all

- conveyed a degree of certainty on your part. I was merely trying to establish how badly Caroline messed up.

As we seem to be in agreement that she delivered the "chic" interpretation demanded of 'Le Freak' - would you mind listing a few of the errors in technique you spotted?

My prediction for what its worth is that Pixie and Jake are nailed on for the final, with two places left up for grabs.
Why?
Pixie because she is very good, and the judges will MAKE SURE she reaches the final, even if the public don't.....
Jake because he is also a trained dancer (whatever he says), and will get through via the millions of eastender votes flying his way.
