BRYAN KIRKWOOD STEPS DOWN AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF 'HOLLYOAKS'

Bryan Kirkwood has stepped down as executive producer of 'Hollyoaks', it has been confirmed of today. Kirkwood, who has been in the role before, from 2006 to 2009, and then again from 2012 to 2014, has been responsible for a range of successful plots, characters and story lines including: The McQueen family, Niall the secret McQueen, McDean, Hannah's anorexia, John Paul's rape and Carmel McQueen's death in a train crash.

The new executive producer is reportedly Cal_Scream2, who has already run a successful fictional soap called Digital Way, which was put on hiatus a few weeks ago but ran from 21st October 2013 until 7th November 2014. Cal_Scream2 said:

'Hollyoaks was once a great soap, and there's no denying the quality has suffered these past few years. However, there have been exceptional circumstances this year. My aim is to take Hollyoaks back to how the quality was during the early 00s. We want to go back to our routes, and focus on characters the audience deeply cares about and not rely on stunts to earn positive comments.'

There will be more announcements over the coming days about casting changes, ready for the first episode airing tomorrow night, Monday 17th November 2014. I will be writing and posting at E4 pace, but episodes will be stripped back to three times a week, a Monday, Wednesday and Friday slot.

CAL AXES 6 CHARACTERS, EXTENDS ANOTHER 3'S CONTRACTS

Cal, the newly appointed executive producer of Hollyoaks, has reportedly axed a whopping SIX characters from the Channel 4 teen soap opera, and extended another THREE contracts to characters who were set to depart from the soap.

Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes McQueen), Joe Trancini (Dennis Savage) and Modupe Adeyeye (Blessing Chambers) have all had their contracts extended, keeping all three characters on the soap for at least another six months to a year. Cal said:

'All three characters were just big losses to the show. Jen Metcalfe, who has played Mercedes since 2006 and is arguably one of the most iconic characters to ever serve on the show, could just not leave. Mercedes is an incredibly diverse and extremely well developed character who can work well with most plots thrown at her, so she was just too big of a loss to lose. Dennis and Blessing are also involved in an amazing story line at the moment, and since Blessing is one of the most welcomed newcomers to arrive over the year, it is essential she stays on the soap with Dennis to complete her story line and advance in future plots.'

However, Persephone Swales-Dawson (Nico Blake), Anna Passey (Sienna Blake), Jeremy Sheffield (Patrick Blake), Charlie Clapham (Freddie Roscoe), Ayden Callaghan (Joe Roscoe) and Fabrizio Santino (Ziggy Rosoe) have all had their contracts terminated. Of these axings, Cal aid:

'These characters have provided the show with great drama throughout their time there, but it's just time to leave. For me, the Blake plot which involved Nico's parentage just wasn't working, and will experience some extensive re-writes. Sienna and Patrick also were just going around in circles, I mean, there's only so long someone can perform an elaborate scheme and then blame it on an innocent character once it goes wrong. The Roscoes were a popular addition to the show, but Freddie, Joe and Ziggy just do not fit into my future of the show and it was necessary for them to leave. All plots involving these characters will be tied up, and most will be given exits full of high drama.'

It is thought that although Freddie, Joe and Ziggy are departing, Robbie (Charlie Wernham) and Jason Roscoe (Alfie Browne-Skyes), Rick Spencer (Victor Gardener) and Lindsey (Sophie Austin) and Kim Butterfield (Daisy Wood-Davis) will be remaining in the show.

CAL CONFIRMS THE MCQUEEN FAMILY FUTURE

Cal, the newly appointed executive producer of Channel 4 teen soap opera Hollyoaks, has confirmed the future of the show's most successful McQueen family, over worries the family would fail due to the exit of original Carmel McQueen (Gemma Merna) and the speculated exit of original Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe), saying:

'Jennifer Metcalfe is staying with the show, so Mercedes' future is cemented. We still have originals Myra (Nicole Barbara Lane) and John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) who are happy with the show, and long standing members Nana (Diane Langton), Theresa (Jorgie Porter) and Phoebe McQueen (Mandip Gill). These will provide the foundations of the family, but also with returning Michaela McQueen (Hollie-Jay Bowes) who returns to the village for the funeral of recently deceased sister Carmel.

As well as this, a new trio of sisters Porsche McQueen (Twinnie Lee More), Celine McQueen (Sarah George) and Cleo McQueen, who Mimi Keene has been cast into the role of. As well as this, the sisters will arrive with their mother Reenie McQueen, who is the daughter of Nana and sister of Myra and Kathleen. Reenie will be played by Elaine Lordan, but will be a guest character, much like Kathleen was when Theresa first arrived to help cement the girls into the family.

Although Sienna was a fascinating character with many layers, I agree that the whole paternity storyline has totally ruined the character and it's definitely time for her to go. I'm glad Mercedes is staying on, she's always been my favourite and I will be gutted when she leaves in the real show. Really looking forward to this project Cal, good luck.

Opening Titles

PREVIOUSLY ON HOLLYOAKS: Mercedes informing Grace that Freddie killed Fraser, Carmel dying in the train crash, Maxine being arrested for breaking her bail terms.

‘Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud’ plays over the opening montage.

At the McQueen house, Myra stands at the doorway to Carmel’s bedroom, which is in disarray. She slowly wipes tears away from her face, as John Paul joins her at the door. He gives her a convincing fake smile, and she smiles slightly back, before embracing her son. In Grace and Trevor’s flat, Grace walks into the kitchen and grabs a glass, violently placing it under the tap and filling it up with water. She drinks some of it, before slamming the glass down on the counter and looking menacingly straight ahead, as Trevor observes her worriedly behind. At The Dog, Frankie sits in front of her dresser and applies lipstick to her lips, puckering them in the mirror and then smiling at her complexion. She stands up and strokes her tight dress, before flicking her hair and walking out into the living room above the pub. Jack sits on the sofa with his reading glasses on, reading a newspaper and she attempts to gain his attention by standing in front of him, but he doesn’t notice her. Her face turns sour and she storms into the kitchen, where Esther observes the pair of them from the breakfast bar, where she tucks into cereal. Dodger and Sienna sit in the police station waiting room, with Dodger looking anxious and standing up, pacing and stroking his face. Sienna observes this and rolls her eyes, playing with her fleece jumper with a bored expression on her face.

“This ain’t right, she wouldn’t have broken her bail terms like this!” Dodger remarks with an annoyed tone, taking a look at the police officer who sits at the front desk. “Have you heard that? She’s innocent!” He shouts out, which makes Sienna look awkward. “Mark, shouting isn’t going to help anybody. I’m sure Max is innocent, we’ll find out what happened soon enough.” She says, but it’s apparent she’s not actually bothered about Maxine. Dodger nods and takes a seat back next to her Sienna. In a questioning room, Maxine sits nervously across from a police detective. “I’ve told you this before…Patrick set me up. Ask anybody around Hollyoaks, they all know what he’s like! He’s evil and cold and calculating…and he can’t stand me being happy with Dodger! He’ll do anything to ruin our lives, even if that means ruining Minnie’s in the process.” Maxine cries, which makes the female police detective sit forward. “Minnie is your newly born daughter, correct?” The female police detective questions, and Maxine nods. “And your story is…Mr. Blake showed up, told you that the hospital said your daughter had breathing difficulties, but forced you to drive the car to the hospital because he was drunk?” The female detective questions further, and Maxine nods again, dignified. “Mr. Blake’s breathalyser’s results show he hadn’t touched a drop of alcohol, Ms. Minniver.” The detective continues, and Maxine begins to look panicked. “He faked being drunk! I told you, he’s calculating, he’s always one step ahead! Please, you HAVE to believe me!” Maxine cries and the female detective sighs and looks at her partner. “We’ll keep her in custody until the court can provide a suitable date for her court hearing. That shouldn’t be too long, Ms. Minniver.” The female detective says, turning her attention to Maxine in her last line. Maxine looks desperate and cries out in shock, as she is then placed in handcuffs.

“Grace, will you please just calm down?” Trevor demands, as Grace is frantically smashing glasses in the kitchen. “Freddie Roscoe! Freddie Roscoe killed my dad!” Grace screams, as Trevor looks shocked. He then grabs Grace’s hands to prevent her from smashing any other glasses and then takes her face, making her look into his eyes. “Smashing up the flat isn’t going to help…how, how do you know?” Trevor worriedly questions, as Grace stops herself from crying. “Mercedes. She told me everything. Now if you still want a girlfriend by tomorrow, I suggest you start coming up with ways on how we can finish him.” Grace says, storming out of the room as Trevor follows her. “You’re taking all this from Mercedes McQueen?” Trevor laughs, as Grace turns around and glares at him. “She’s not been wrong before…when you slept together, the night my dad died, that was true wasn’t it?” Grace demands, and Trevor looks down at the ground. “Now I know little old Freddie is your accomplice, but he’s gone you hear me?” Grace says, and Trevor gulps. “If you need Freddie gone…if that’s what you truly want Grace, then I’ll help you. But he is not dying Grace, you hear me?” Trevor demands and Grace sighs and looks at him with a desperate look on her face. “Just be ready for tonight.” Grace says slowly, before rushing out of the room. Trevor sighs and then kicks a cupboard in frustration, as Grace stumbles into her bedroom and takes a seat on the bed, looking at a picture of two young girls with Fraser. Her and Clare. She smiles slightly, before placing the picture back on the bedside table, before her smile turns to a menacing glare.

“Theresa, Phoebe, John Paul!” Nana shouts, setting down some plates of food on the breakfast table. Myra sits on the sofa staring at Nana, holding back her tears. “Myra love, will you please eat something?” Nana suggests, showing Myra the beans on toast she has prepared. “I’m not hungry.” Myra states, just as Theresa walks downstairs cradling Myra-Pocahontas. “You really do need to eat something Auntie Myra, it isn’t healthy.” She kindly states, taking one of the plates from the breakfast bar and continuing to bounce her baby. “And Phoebe and John Paul aren’t here, Nana.” Theresa ads, taking a seat as Nana says. “Flaming hell! I’ve wasted three tins of beans and a loaf of bread on this!” Nana sighs, before storming into the living room. “Kathleen-Angel.” Myra says, as Theresa raises her eyebrow. “What about her?” Theresa questions, as Myra sighs. “She was crying all last night Theresa, on the landing…I had to go and put her to bed three times.” Myra explains, as Theresa looks worried and then shrugged. “I wouldn’t know, I had earplugs in, it was Phoebe’s turn to do the night feeds for Myra-Pocahontas.” Theresa proudly states, putting her baby into a Moses’ basket on the floor as she digs into her beans on toast. “She’s not Phoebe’s baby is she Theresa? And Kathleen-Angel, she wasn’t crying for you…she was crying for Carmel…Carmel would have let her sleep with her…kissed away the nightmares.” Myra breaks down in tears, as Nana sighs and pats Myra on the back. Theresa looks confused, before continuing to eat her breakfast. “Well excuse me, sometimes I’m too busy to look after both the kids. I do have a life.” Theresa sighs, as Myra climbs to her feet and rushes at Theresa. “You do! And Carmel doesn’t! Mercedes was right about you Theresa…all along.” Myra cries, before rushing to the front door. “Myra! Where you going now?” Nana sighs, as Myra turns and glares at her. “To find my daughter!” Myra shouts, before slamming the door shit. Theresa looks upset about Myra’s outburst, causing Nana to sigh and then take her plate into the kitchen. “She’s just grieving Theresa…both of them are. Her and Mercedes, they don’t mean all of this.” Nana explains, which causes Theresa to look down at the ground.

Frankie stands behind the bar of The Dog, serving a customer as Darren walks out of the back, looking concerned. “You seen Nancy?” He questions. “Oh she’s running around the village like a headless chicken, Maxine’s been arrested for breaking her bail conditions.” Frankie explains, as Darren raises an eyebrow. “She’s in and out of prison all the time, that one.” Darren sighs, as Frankie shrugs her shoulders and looks over at Mercedes, who is almost asleep in the corner. “Oi! If you’re not drinking anything, you’re leaving.” Frankie states, as Mercedes slowly stirs and looks at her, raising an eyebrow. “What?” She demands, before shifting her position to reveal she’s still in her tattered wedding dress. “I said, if you’re not drinking anything, you’re leaving.” Frankie says, as Mercedes rolls her eyes and slowly stumbles out of her place. “Was just leaving anyway, don’t need this greasy pub.” She slurs, as Frankie notices what she’s wearing. “Gosh! I knew you were tacky Mercedes…but this. What did you do, steal it off the dead body of a fellow prostitute?” Frankie smirks, as Mercedes tries to strike her. “Say that again! If you must know, these are the clothes I wore when I watched my sister die!” Mercedes screams, as Frankie looks awkward. “Mercedes…I didn’t think…” Frankie tries to say, as Mercedes spins on her heels and walks towards the door. “Never do, do you? You never change, you’re still the trampy old cougar behind the bar of The Dog. You’re one person I wouldn’t miss.” Mercedes spits, before leaving through the door as Frankie looks down at what she’s wearing and sighs, taking Mercedes’ insult personally. She then turns on her heels and rushes back behind the bar, before the camera pans to Rick, who has witnessed the whole thing. Outside, Mercedes stumbles towards the pond and looks at the candles, which have now gone out, which Myra, Nana and John Paul placed down for Carmel. She sighs, before letting out a loud sob. “Mercedes?” Myra voice rings out, as Mercedes turns to see Myra, still in her pyjamas, looking at her. “I’m so sorry.” Myra cries, before rushing to Mercedes and hugging her tightly. Mercedes resists for a moment, before hugging her back.

Maxine is led out of the police station in handcuffs, as Dodger and Sienna worriedly stand up. “Max!” Dodger shouts, as Maxine looks desperate. “Tell Minnie I love her!” Maxine shouts, as she’s put in a police car to be taken to prison. “MAX!” Dodger continues to shout, before breaking down in tears and falling to his knees. Sienna walks behind him and places her hand on his shoulder, smiling deviously as the police car is driven away from the police station. The camera pans to Patrick, who stands over Nico’s bed in the hospital. “So Maxine’s going back to prison?” Nico asks, and Patrick nods, cradling Minnie. “Looks like it…but me, you, Sienna and Minnie, we’ll do just fine.” Patrick smiles, as Nico raises an eyebrow. “It’s weird…that my mum and Minnie…they’re sisters, but they’ve got such an age gap between them.” Nico says, as Patrick nods. “But all’s that matters that I have my daughter’s together. All of them.” Patrick says suspiciously, looking at Nico as he says it. She nods awkwardly and then settles into her bed. “So, it’s good that Theresa is a match.” Patrick says, trying to change the subject. “Yeah...I mean, no one’s ever done something so nice for me before…for nothing in return.” Nico says, as Patrick looks smug. “Well I’m sure she’s done it for something…” He says, as Nico raises an eyebrow. “What do you mean?” She questions. “Well, Mark’s your uncle…and I’m sure, in doing this, it would make the pair of them closer.” Patrick confirms, as Nico shrugs, before yawning. “Rest easy Nico, I’ll be back in an hour or so.” Patrick says, before leaving the hospital room and standing outside. He looks down at Minnie, and then through the window at Nico, before walking down the hospital corridor ominously.

“Please Mercy, come back.” Myra cries, as the pair sit outside The Dog, both crying. “I can’t, not whilst she’s there. I can’t stomach her, mum…she ruined Carm’s life.” Mercedes cries, taking Myra’s hands. “I know…and I’ve spoken to her about it. Me and Nana, both. Theresa, she was just a kid when she killed Calvin, and she’s paid for it. Our Carmel forgave her in her final minutes…she wouldn’t want all this.” Myra sighs, as Mercedes shakes her head. “This isn’t about what Carm would want, it’s about what I want. Theresa needs to go, she ain’t apart of our family anymore.” Mercedes sighs, trying to get up from the table but Myra stops her. “Mercy, Carmel loved those kids…what would she say if she knew that they were being turfed out on the street?” Myra demands, which makes Mercedes shake her head. “I ain’t talking ‘bout kiddies. I’m talking ‘bout Theresa. Those kiddies would be better off without her as a mother.” Mercedes says cruelly, before attempting to walk away from the table again. “Okay, okay. Consider Theresa gone.” Myra says, as Mercedes stops in her tracks and smirks. “I’ll come around at about 6. Something I gotta do first.” Mercedes says, before walking off and leaving Myra sitting at the table, nervously twitching her hands as she thinks about kicking Theresa out of the house.

The episode ends at the Roscoe house, as Freddie sits on the sofa alone, eating a pizza. Grace and Trevor arrive out the back, each wearing black clothing and gloves, and Grace armed with a gun. She signals for Trevor, and he then finally kicks the kitchen door through, causing it to fall of it’s hinges. Freddie immediately gets up and rushes into the kitchen, looking shocked when he sees Grace and Trevor. “What the bloody hell are you doing?” Freddie demands, as Grace points the gun at him. “It’s time you paid for murdering Fraser Black.” Grace says, and the camera focuses on Freddie’s shocked face as the credits kick in.

POST CREDITS SCENE: Maxine sitting in her prison cell, cradling her knees and crying softly to herself.

Enjoyed that episode, I'm guessing Freddie is now gone which is a serious bonus and the McQueen's have actually showed grief. And Myra has chosen her daughter over the awful Theresa all good. I'm disappointed about Sienna being axed as I wanted to see her be taken in another direction but I agree about the rest of them. I hope you do their exits justice but good episode keep it up.

MICHAELA MCQUEEN TO RETURN PREGNANT

Michaela McQueen (Hollie Jay Bowes) is set to return to the village after 2 years away in Wednesday's episode, which will see Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) bring her back to the McQueen home in the run up to their recently deceased sister Carmel McQueen (Gemma Merna)'s funeral.

However, Cal has promised that the show will see a new direction for Michaela, after she arrives back in the village pregnant, ready to confront her past demons and show her family and friends that she is taking her life seriously. Cal said:

'In Michaela's last stint, it's no secret she didn't do anything. She came back, she stayed for a year, she left...that's pretty much all to it. This time, we want to take Michaela in a new direction. She used to be the joke McQueen, the light relief one, but now we want to share some of the tragedy the other McQueen's face to her, and see how she handles that.'

Michaela will reportedly know who the father of the baby is, but for her first few weeks back in the village, she will be unwilling to divulge details with her increasingly worried mother Myra.

Hollyoaks continues on Wednesday, where Michaela will return.

FRANKIE OSBORNE TO HAVE ANOTHER AFFAIR

New executive producer of Channel 4 teen soap opera Hollyoaks, Cal_Scream2, has announced that long standing character Frankie Osborne (Helen Pearson) is to pursue an affair with newly established character Rick Spencer (Victor Gardener) when she confesses to Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) that her relationship with husband Jack Osborne (Jimmy McKenna) is suffering. Cal said:

'We've seen Frankie let off some steam in a brief fling with Ziggy Roscoe (Fabrizio Santino) but we want this affair to actually mean something to the audience. We'll never beat the relationship with Jack and Frankie, and we don't want to spoil them, but we feel that unlike Nancy and Darren, an affair is the only thing which can spice up their characters again and rekindle their passion for each other.'

Cal also promised that the affair with Rick will spark the beginning of a huge story for Frankie and Jack, and that it will be unlike any other affair we've seen before in Hollyoaks. Hollyoaks continues tomorrow night, and airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Awww, loving the grieving for Carmel, mile better than what happened in the actual show! I love Mercedes and I love how she's planning to get Theresa in prison! Theresa deserves prison! It's interesting how Grace has fallen back into her old ways, I hope she makes Freddie pay as he deserves prison for crimes against acting! I loved the Maxine and Dodger scenes, it's a shame she's still in prison but I guess it's more realistic than her getting out and reuniting with Patrick, I'm very glad Michaela is returning, I'm glad she's getting stuff to do as last time she returned she did naff all! Great work, I can't wait to see it continue!

Opening Titles

PREVIOUSLY ON HOLLYOAKS: Grace and Trevor breaking into the kitchen of the Roscoe house, Mercedes calling Frankie an old cougar, Mercedes telling Myra that Theresa needs to leave, Patrick saying ‘all his daughters’ together to Nico, Maxine being put in the police car as Dodger cries and Sienna smiles.

The episode immediately picks up where the last one left off, with Grace and Trevor standing inside the Roscoe kitchen whilst Freddie looks shocked at the doorway. “Look, please…Grace…I swear to you, I didn’t kill Fraser.” Freddie stammers, as Grace steps forward and throws emphasis onto the gun. “Not wise to lie to someone with a gun.” Grace says, before kicking a chair from underneath the table. Freddie looks down at it, before looking at Trevor, who looks increasingly nervous. “Sit.” Grace instructs, gesturing to the chair with the gun still in her shaking hands. Freddie looks at it, before sighing and casually sitting down, sitting back and looking at the two. “What is this? Some lame attempt to scare me?” Freddie laughs, just as Grace slaps him hard across the face. “Shut up! It’s my turn to talk! Trevor.” Grace says, as Trevor rolls his eyes from behind her and produces duct tape, tying it around Freddie’s mouth and then proceeding to tie Freddie’s hands to the chair with rope. Freddie squirms underneath his duct taped mouth, but still looks unconvinced that the pair are being serious. “Grace-“Trevor says, but Grace glares at him. “You shot him, didn’t you Freddie?” Grace demands, as Freddie squirms and attempts to get free. “Shot him on that cold night, for what Freddie? FOR WHAT?” Grace screams, before turning away and walking towards the kitchen door, which is on the floor and off its hinges. She steps into the night, before turning back to the pair. “It’s a cold night tonight Freddie…guess you’re going to know what it felt like to be my dad.” She says cruelly, before walking back over to Freddie as Trevor rubs his forehead stressfully behind her.

“Thought we could have a nice curry tonight, just the two of us.” Frankie says to Jack, as the pair both serve customers behind the bar. Rick is still in the corner drinking, after witnessing Frankie and Mercedes’ row earlier in the day. “I don’t think so, not tonight love, we need to get Charlie, Tom and Oscar fed too.” Jack explains, as Frankie sighs and rolls her eyes. “Esther, Nancy or Darren can do it. Jack, we never get any time together anymore.” Frankie grunts, which causes Jack to sigh and stop what he’s doing. “Frankie, I know love, but when you’ve got as many kids living with us as we do, then that’s going to happen. Maybe another night?” Jack sighs, before walking into the back. Frankie looks upset and leans on the counter, looking out of the window. Rick spies his chance and stands up, walking over to the bar. “Let down?” He asks, as Frankie looks at him with a disgusted look. “Happily married.” She comments, before walking to the other side of the bar. “Didn’t look happy from where I was standing.” He calls out, which makes Frankie roll and eyes and walk back over to him. “Well what did it look from where you were standing?” She sarcastically questions, causing Rick to smirk. “A beautiful woman being let down by her boring, old husband.” He laughs, which causes Frankie to grab the drink on the counter and hurl it over Rick. “Woah!” He calls out, and she pushes him away from the bar. “Jack’s a wonderful husband, get out. Waste of space.” She says, before storming into the back after Jack, leaving Rick looking shocked and drenched. Nancy enters the pub looking stressed out, and observes Rick covered in a drink. “Oh, the shame.” Nancy remarks, as Rick smiles. “Chat up line gone wrong.” He explains, and Nancy looks curious. “I pity the woman you did it on, but I’m almost kind of jealous of her, getting to hurl that drink all over you.” Nancy toys, as Rick looks smug. “Save the jealousy for another time, ay Nance?” Rick teases, before strolling out of the pub as Nancy looks annoyed. In the back, Frankie looks worried and stands alone, fiddling with her hands, as if nervous as to what to do.

At the McQueen house, Myra slowly enters the house looking sheepish, where Nana sits on the sofa relaxing. “Is Theresa home?” Myra asks, and Nana points into the kitchen, where Theresa reads a magazine on the breakfast bar. “You better apologize Myra, that girl has been through enough this year without you and our Mercy taking Carmel’s death out on her.” Nana sighs, but Myra ignores Nana and moves into the kitchen, smiling weakly at Theresa, who looks up and then closes her magazine. “Listen, Theresa…I am sorry about this morning. But-“Myra says, but she is interrupted by Theresa. “I get it, you’re grieving. Nana says you and Mercedes are bound to do that whilst grieving for Carmel…but don’t worry, I’m going to do better. And I’ve started by planning the funeral – hearses and that.” Theresa explains, showing Myra scraps of paper with notes on them. Myra smiles weakly, before looking upset and glancing at the ground. “Theresa-“Myra tries to say, but Theresa carries on talking. “And I’ve called Michaela, she’s said she’ll be able to make it…but Jacqui-“Theresa tries to say, but Myra speaks up loudly. “Theresa you have to leave.” Myra sighs, as Theresa stops in her tracks with her mouth agape at Myra’s confession. Nana overhears this and waddles into the kitchen, looking annoyed. “You need to stop this!” Nana shouts, pointing a finger at Myra, who refuses to relent. “No, this is my house and this needs to be said. Carmel has passed away…and Mercy is refusing to come home unless Theresa leaves. I need to keep my daughter close, she hasn’t got anyone else in the village…but you have Theresa.” Myra sighs, as Theresa then shoves passed Myra and storms to the staircase. Myra tries to call out her name, but Theresa ignores her, and Nana then walks closer to Myra. “Mum, please-“ Myra tries to say, but she is cut short by a hard slap from Nana. “Time’s like this, the McQueens need to stick together! If our Theresa’s going, then so am I.” Nana cries out, before rushing after Theresa as Myra holds her cheek with a glum look on her face.

“Now I’m going to take this gag off, and you’re going to do exactly what I said…alright?” Grace demands, as Freddie nods. Grace then takes his gag off, and points the gun at his temple. “Trevor.” Grace calls, and Trevor slowly steps forward with his phone. Grace snatches it off him, and presses the record button. “I…Frederick Roscoe…confess to the murder and shooting of Fraser Black.” Freddie stumbles into the phone, and Grace smirks. She presses stop, and saves the recording, before walking over to the kitchen counter and setting it down. “You really are pathetic.” Grace laughs, before walking towards the door. She throws the gun to the ground, and Freddie’s eyes dart over to it. Trevor stands near to Freddie, and looks uneasy. Grace walks into the hallway and takes out the house phone, dialling a number quickly. “Police please, 65 Christleton Terrace, Hollyoaks. I have the man here who murdered Fraser Black.” Grace says quickly, almost automatically, before setting the phone back down. “Trevor-“Grace calls out, before turning to see Freddie free from his restraints, holding a gun to Trevor’s head. “Grace!” Trevor shouts, and Grace looks panicked, before reaching for the phone. “Don’t even think about it.” Freddie laughs, and Grace pulls her hand away from the phone. “The police are coming, it’s too late-“She tries to say smugly, but is unable to hide the frightened tone in her voice. “The phone…get it.” Freddie instructs to Grace, who gulps and then walks into the kitchen. He watches her walk into the kitchen, and she reaches the counter, but her hand slowly reaches down into the knife draw below…

Theresa marches down the stairs wearing her coat and carrying a suitcase behind her, with Myra-Pocahontas in her arms and Nana trailing behind with Kathleen Angel. “How could you do it Myra – to throw two kiddies out on the street-“Nana tries to say, but Myra is already standing there and ready to fire back. “The kids aren’t going anywhere, it’s Theresa that needs to leave.” Myra sighs, as Theresa glares at Myra. “My kids are coming with me Myra, so it’s either us all together, or none at all.” Theresa explains, which makes Myra sigh. “Which is it, Myra?” Nana demands, as Phoebe appears at the top of the stairs. “Theresa and the kiddies are just going.” Myra says calmly, as Theresa scowls and then throws open the front door, storming out. Nana glares at Myra on her way out, before following Theresa down the pathway. Myra sighs, before shutting the door and wiping tears away from her eye. “Where are they going?” Phoebe demands, making her way fully down the stairs. “Phoebe…please listen to me-“Myra tries to say, stopping Phoebe opening the front door. “Our Mercy won’t come back unless Theresa is out…with Carmel gone, I need to focus on my daughter-“Myra is cut off by Phoebe once again. “You need to focus on your family, Myra!” Phoebe hits back, before storming back up the stairs. Myra sighs, and walks over to the sofa slowly, stroking Carmel’s face on the picture of the pair of them, which is now perched proudly on top of the mantelpiece. “You’re our guardian angel.” Myra says quietly, before breaking down in tears.

Nancy walks into the living room of the apartment above The Dog, where Frankie sits on the sofa, tears strolling down her face. She quickly dabs at them with a tissue, and Nancy raises an eyebrow. “What’s wrong?” Nancy questions, as Frankie puts on a fake smile and shakes her head, standing up. “Nothing, was just having a sit down, I’ll go back downstairs if you want me to take over for a while.” Frankie says, but Nancy stands in her way. “Sit Frankie.” Nancy instructs, causing Frankie to sigh and then take a seat. “What’s this about?” Nancy questions, and Frankie suddenly breaks down in tears. “It’s Jack! I just feel…I just feel like our marriage…it’s falling apart at my fingers Nancy and I’m just desperately trying to stop it but it’s too much!” Frankie cries, and Nancy looks empathetic and cradles a crying Frankie. “It’s fine, shh.” Nancy says, as Frankie continues to cry. The camera pans to outside the door, where Rick stands, listening in. He smiles to himself deviously, before the scene changes to the Lomax house, where Ziggy and Leela sit on the sofa. “All’s I’m saying is that if I moved in here-“ He tries to say, but she cuts him short. “If you moved in here it would be a disaster: what made you think I would want to live with you Ziggy after what you did?” Leela questions, running her hand through her hair stressfully and then jumping off the sofa. “Please Leela…just give me another chance!” Ziggy tries to beg, but Leela walks to the front door and opens it. “Get out, Ziggy.” Leela sighs, which makes Ziggy storm out in frustration. Leela slams the door behind him, and then kicks the coffee table in frustration.

“I’m waiting.” Freddie says venomously, continuing to point the gun at Trevor’s neck as Grace wavers next to the knife drawer and the counter which the phone is placed on. She slowly holds the knife and shoves it into her T-Shirt, before grabbing the phone and taking it to Freddie. “The knife, drop it.” Freddie instructs, knowing what she has. Grace sighs, and then takes the knife, looking like she’s going to drop it to the ground. Instead, she takes it and quickly plunges it at Freddie, stopping herself just as it reaches his skin. He tightens his grip on Trevor and moves the gun closer to Trevor’s neck. “Works both ways, Freddie.” Grace says with gritted teeth. The camera moves to the front door of the Roscoe house, as Ziggy enters the house. “Anyone here?” Ziggy calls out, and Trevor quickly spies his chance. “Help!” Trevor calls out, before kicking Freddie in between the legs. Ziggy rushes to the kitchen, as Grace scrambles for the gun on the floor, but Freddie takes it quickly. Freddie is about to pull the trigger on Grace, when Trevor jumps at him. The camera pans outside the house, an overhead shot as a gunshot rings out, and the ending credits roll…

POST CREDITS SCENE: Myra and John Paul cuddling on the sofa of the McQueen home, as Mercedes and Michaela burst through the door. “MUM!” Michaela cries with tears strolling down her face, rushing toward Myra and hugging her as Mercedes smiles from the front door.

Thank you for your lovely comments Nick!

Opening Titles

PREVIOUSLY ON HOLLYOAKS: Freddie holding a gun to Trevor’s head, Grace grabbing the knife, Ziggy walking to the Roscoe house, a shot being heard, Michaela rushing to Myra and hugging her, Theresa and Nana leaving the McQueen house, Rick listening to Frankie confiding in Nancy.

The episode begins immediately where the last one left off, as Ziggy lays on the floor of the Roscoe kitchen in a pool of blood. Grace slowly rises to her feet, as Trevor and Freddie wrestle on the ground. “ZIGGY!” Grace screams and drops to her knees quickly, removing her black jacket and rolling it up into a ball, applying pressure to his gunshot wound. Ziggy is instantly unconscious, and Trevor and Freddie stop wrestle and look up. “ZIG!” Freddie shouts, before throwing Trevor off of him and rushing over, slapping Grace’s hand away. “Trevor…call an ambulance…NOW!” Grace shouts, as Trevor rushes and grabs the phone which is on the floor. Grace is frozen in fear as Freddie applies pressure to Ziggy’s gun wound and taps his face, trying to get him to wake up. “You did this Freddie…you’re going to pay for this.” Grace says, as Freddie glares at her. “You’ve done enough!” He snarls, crying and realizing he’s covered in his brother’s blood. Trevor rushes into the scene again, having called the ambulance in the hallway. “Grace we need to go…the police are here!” Trevor shouts, but Grace doesn’t budge. “GRACE!” Trevor shouts, and Grace snaps into focus and rushes out of the broken kitchen door. Trevor stops for a moment, and grabs the kitchen knife and gun, before following Grace. “It’s the police!” A police officer says at the front door, knocking on it frantically as Freddie cries at Ziggy on the floor. “ZIG…ZIG PLEASE!” Freddie cries, just as the front door is kicked in and police storm into the house.

“Michaela! What are you doing here?” Myra questions to her daughter, who cries into her arms. “Mercedes…she came and got me. I was going to come for the funeral anyway, but she told me she needed us together.” Michaela says, sniffling before turning to John Paul, who looks shocked on the sofa. “Come here you!” Michaela cries, hugging him closely too. She then gets to her feet and looks at the pictures of Carmel littered around the mantelpiece. “Well where have you been? You should have come sooner!” Myra says, as John Paul nods. “Yeah, we needed you here last week!” John Paul sighs, as Michaela looks down at the ground. “I couldn’t face it…I was too nervous, but seeing Mercy, she reminded me that it’s time to come back…for good.” Michaela promises, as Myra beams and then gets up and gives Michaela a long hug. “Is she gone then?” Mercedes asks behind them, and Myra pulls away and looks at Mercedes solemnly, before nodding. “Well where is everyone? Nana? Phoebe? Kathleen-Angel?” Mercedes questions further, as John Paul stands up and paces around the room. “Phoebe won’t come out of her bedroom, Nana and the kids went with Theresa.” John Paul explains, as Mercedes looks down at the ground. “Well I’ll go speak to Phoebe.” Mercedes says, before walking up the stairs. Michaela smiles at John Paul and Myra, before turning away from them. “I’ll go and make us some tea, or something.” She says, and walks into the kitchen. In the background, Myra and John Paul are talking and Michaela is turned away from them and she un-buttons her coat, looking down at her otherwise concealed baby bump and stroking it. She smiles, before flipping on the kettle.

Outside The Dog, Dodger stands on top of the deck of the boat, looking around the pond as Theresa, Nana and Kathleen-Angel make their way down the dock. “What are you doing here?” Dodger questions, smiling a bit as he says it, as Nana waves about a handkerchief. “We’re damsels in distress!” Nana cries out, which makes Dodger smirk a bit more. “How do you mean?” He asks, as they climb on the boat and Dodger takes Myra-Pocahontas from Theresa and begins cradling her. “Auntie Myra just kicked us out…well not us, me, but Nana and the kids came with.” Theresa sighs, as Diane raises his eyebrows in shock. “What? Why?” He demands, as Nana sighs. “I’ll leave you to explain, come on Kathleen-Angel, let’s go inside.” Nana says, taking Kathleen-Angel’s hand and entering the boat. Dodger watches them leave, before turning back to Theresa. “What have the McQueen’s done?” He demands as Theresa paces around running her hands through her hair. “It’s Mercedes…she flipped out about me ruining Carmel’s life and refused to come back unless Auntie Myra kicked me out…and Auntie Myra did.” Theresa sighs, putting her hand on her hip as Dodger sighs and looks down at Myra-Pocahontas. “So, what do you reckon? Can we stay here?” Theresa asks, and Dodger smiles. “Of course you can, aren’t going to leave four lovely ladies out in the cold am I?” He chuckles, causing Theresa to smile. Dodger then beckons for her to come inside, and they enter, where Nana and Kathleen-Angel are already waiting. Across the pond, outside The Dog, Rick sits on a table alone in the quiet seating area, where no one else is. Frankie picks up glasses left my customers, and looks at Rick uneasily. “So…you’re not feeling the whole marriage with Jack thing?” He smiles, causing Frankie to look at him with an intense look on her face. “Think you’ve got your wires crossed there.” Frankie tries to pass off, before turning to walk away from Rick. “I heard you talking to Nancy.” He reveals, causing Frankie to stop in her tracks.

“What’s going on?” Robbie demands, walking up to Jason, Lindsey and Kim who stand outside the Roscoe house, with various police cars and ambulances dotted around. “Nobody knows, they’re not letting anyone in!” Jason sighs, as a police officer walks out of the house. “Oi! This is our ‘ouse, what’s going on?” Robbie demands, as the police officer lowers his eyes. “And you are?” The police officer asks, as Robbie looks at a worried looking Jason, Lindsey and Kim, and then back at the police officer. “Robbie Roscoe, I live here with my brothers.” Robbie explains, as the police officer sighs. “Think we need to talk down at the station.” The police officer explains, as Lindsey scoffs and then runs her hand through her hair. “Great! What’ve you done now, Robbie?” She grunts, before the police officer shakes his head. “There’s been a shooting. A young male, mid 20s. Probably one of your brother’s.” The police officer solemnly explains, as they all look frantically at the house. “Freddie!” Lindsey calls out, before Kim tries to restrain her. “It could be Ziggy-“Kim tries to say, as Jason glares at her. “Can we make some room please?” A paramedic shouts, as a stretcher is brought out of the house, with another paramedic wheeling it at the other end. Ziggy is wrapped in bandages and unconscious, and the family notice him. “Ziggy!” Robbie calls out frantically, before Jason moves forward. “I’ll go with him, I’m his brother, Robbie, you call dad and get the other’s down the ‘ospital yeah?” Jason suggests, climbing into the back of the ambulance with Ziggy as Robbie nods. Lindsey then pulls out her phone. “I need to call Joe, tell him to get down the hospital-“She tries to say, before Kim points at the front door as Freddie is led out in handcuffs by another two police officers. “FREDDIE!” Lindsey cries, as Freddie mouths ‘I’m Sorry’ to her before he’s put into the police car.

“What are you playing at Grace? What happened to going on the straight and narrow? WE’RE FINISHED!” Trevor shouts to Grace, shoving her against the wall around the back alley as Grace sighs and looks away. “We’re not at all! You got the evidence, yeah?” Grace asks, and Trevor opens his jacket to reveal it. “We just make sure that’s gone and there’s no proof we’re there. That confession was on the table, the police know about it. Freddie’s finished, and he shot Ziggy. Either way, he’s going to prison.” Grace spits, before pushing Trevor out of the way and trying to walk away. “And how are we going to get rid of evidence when there’s coppers all over the village? They know where we live Grace, our place will be one of the first places they go!” Trevor sighs, which makes Grace spin around and glare at him. “Just get rid of it Trevor.” Grace sighs, before storming off as Trevor paces about worriedly, before kicking the wall in frustration. “You know nothing about my marriage with Jack!” Frankie says in a hushed tone to Rick, as the scene changes back to the area outside of The Dog. “Since I heard you and Nancy talking, I think I know it probably better than Jack does.” Rick chuckles, sitting back and folding his arms as Frankie sighs with annoyance. “What do you want out of this, Rick? Do you gain some kind of satisfaction from ruining other people’s marriages? Is that it?” Frankie demands, as Rick chuckles and sits back. “We all make mistakes Frankie…can’t deny that, least of all you.” Rick says, as Frankie looks down at the ground. “And I heard about your mistakes: your thing with Ziggy...Say is that a mistake you’d like to be repeating with a more refined, more sophisticated man?” Rick teases, as Frankie scowls in disgust and gets up from the table. “It’s a mistake that makes me sick. Do I make that clear Rick? My thing with Ziggy is dead and buried…consider anything you were hoping for between me and you....stillborn.” Frankie rolls her eyes, before turning to walk away again. “I like that lipstick you wear Frankie, but I’d prefer you to wear a darker shade. Really brings out that beautiful face of your’s.” He teases, before she walks into the pub, leaving him alone.

Back at the McQueen home, Michaela, John Paul and Myra sit drinking tea as Michaela sets her mug down. “I need to go.” She says, as Myra looks worried. “Go where? You’ve only been here five minutes and its Carmel’s funeral next week!” She cries, before Michaela shakes her head. “I’m not going far, I just need a walk…to myself.” Michaela insists, before leaving the McQueen house. She shuts the door and breathes in the cold night air, before continuing on down the pathway. Upstairs, Mercedes sits in front of Phoebe’s door. “I remember a time, me and Carmel were stuck in the woods, we were arguing about something…I can’t remember what – it could have been another one of my boyfriends, and our Carmel said I didn’t deserve him. She said I was nasty and a cow…she didn’t mean it, and then she just fell to the floor. I panicked, and she started screaming, saying she’d been shot…the dozy mare. It was a paintball she’d been hit with, we were in the middle of ‘paint ball tournament.” Mercedes laughs, as the camera moves to Phoebe, sitting on the other side of the door and smiling at the story. “That’s my sister Carmel…not the woman you saw these past few years. Not the woman who was so lonely, so desperate for a baby, watching the girl who killed her husband bring up his kid, desperate to be loved…and that’s why Theresa had to go Phoebe. She ruined my Carmel, reduced her to the woman she was before she died in that train crash, but that woman you saw in the wreckage…being so brave even though she knew she were about t’die…that was my sister Carmel.” Mercedes cries, breaking down in sobs as she talks about Carmel. The door to Phoebe’s door slowly opens and Mercedes turns around, looking up at Phoebe, who has tears strolling down her face. “I’m not saying I agree with chucking our Theresa out…but I understand.” Phoebe says, before Mercedes gets up and gives her a comforting hug.

On the Savage boat, Nana lies asleep, snoring on the sofa, as Kathleen-Angel and Myra-Pocahontas lay asleep in the bedroom. Theresa and Dodger sit on the deck, looking up at the night sky. “Any news on Maxine?” Theresa asks, as Dodger sighs and looks away. “She’s in custody, they’re trying to set her a court date so she can plead her case…explain why she broke her bail terms.” He sighs, as Theresa nods. “Well it’s good about me being a match for Nico, start my first test on Monday.” Theresa admits, trying to break the awkward silence as Dodger smiles and turns away. Michaela then suddenly climbs onto the boat, as Dodger and Theresa both jump. “Michaela!” Theresa calls out, rising to her feet as Michaela shies away from her hug. “Oh, don’t tell me you as well-“Theresa says with disappointment, as Michaela looks away. “Look, I don’t agree with how my mum and our Mercy have gone about it, but I think it’s best if you stay here…Mercy is mad, and I don’t think it’s best if you come t’funeral.” Michaela says, as Theresa’s mouth turns into an O in shock. Dodger climbs out with a creased forehead. “Hang on, Carmel was her cousin, you can’t just waltz back into the village and start banning her family from her funeral!” Dodger shouts, as Michaela rolls her eyes. “Look Dodger, I know it’s been a few years since we’ve seen each other, but Carmel was my sister if you remember. I have enough rights to warn Theresa away. It’s for your own good T.” Michaela says, before turning away from the boat. “Please Michaela-“ Theresa calls out, close to tears, as Michaela turns back, looking empathetic. “Tell Nana and Kathleen-Angel they’re welcome to come.” She ads, before walking away as Theresa begins to cry and Dodger hugs her, watching Michaela leave with venom in his eyes.

“Linds!” Joe calls out, rushing down the corridor to Lindsey, who stands in the hospital, with Robbie, Jason and Kim. “What’s happened?” He demands, as Lindsey cries into his chest. “It’s Ziggy, he’s been shot.” Lindsey cries, as Joe looks desperate and moves towards the room leading into Ziggy’s room, showing him in bed, hooked up to machines. “Where’s Fred?” Joe demands, as the family look away. “We didn’t know what happened, we just saw Ziggy coming out of the house on a stretcher…and Freddie trailing behind in handcuffs.” Kim says solemnly, as Joe looks confused. “Well what do you mean…its Fred, he wouldn’t have hurt Zig.” Joe says, just as the scene changes to Freddie, sitting in a police interviewing room with two police officers sitting across from him and a tape recorder on the table. “My name is Frederick Roscoe, I’m 28 years of age and I live at 65 Christleton Terrace, Hollyoaks. I’d like to confess to the murder of Fraser Black on 21st April 2014, and the shooting of David Roscoe on 17th November 2014.” Freddie says, with his face blank, as the police detectives shut off the tape recording and place Freddie in handcuffs. A montage shows Freddie being led through the police station, being placed into a police car, being led into a prison cell and finally sitting on the bed of his police cell as the lock is slid on the door. He suddenly breaks down in frantic tears on the bed, hugging his knees closely as the camera pans to give an aerial view of the cell, as the ending credits roll…

POST CREDITS SCENE: Frankie sitting at her dresser in the dark, as Jack snores in bed. She looks at her lipstick, before picking up another one, a darker one. She regards it in her hand, before she smiles softly, thinking of what Rick said.

THE McQUEEN FAMILY TO HAVE MAJOR RIVALRY

The McQueen family, it has been announced, will be split into two in the continuing aftermath to Carmel McQueen (Gemma Merna)'s death. Since the McQueen family has been portrayed as close, new executive producer Cal_Scream2 has said it will be interesting to see the family split into two and face off against each other. Cal said:

'On one side we have Myra, Michaela, Mercedes, John Paul and Phoebe, and on the other we have Nana, Theresa and a newly returned Kathleen (Alison Burrows). The newly arrived McQueens, Porsche, Celine, Cleo (MImi Keene) and Reenie (Elaine Lordan) will mediate between the sides, but will initially be against Nana, Theresa and Kathleen.

It's going to be interesting to see how they all handle it, and it's unlike anything they've been given before. We think it's important to try the family with some good character driven drama, instead of issue plots and sensationalist things like murders, secrets and stunts for the family.'

Hollyoaks continues tomorrow on Digital Spy.

Opening Titles

PREVIOUSLY ON HOLLYOAKS: Freddie being arrested for Fraser’s murder, sitting in his police cell, The Roscoe’s gathered in the hospital whilst Ziggy is on the hospital bed, Rick flirting with Frankie in the outside area of The Dog, Michaela warning Theresa away from Carmel’s funeral.

‘Taylor Swift – Blank Space’ plays over the opening montage.

Phoebe sets down a piece of toast on a plate in front of Myra, who turns away from it and pushes the plate across the breakfast bar. Phoebe and John Paul share worried glances. At the hospital, Ziggy sits up in the hospital bed in his hospital gown as Leela sits at his bedside and Robbie, Rick and Jason stand outside in the hallway. At The Dog in the Pond, Jack opens up the doors whilst Frankie looks at him with frustration in her eyes. She leans on the bar counter and looks out through the window, whilst Darren rushes passed her. She rolls her eyes at him, before moving into the back of the pub. On the Savage boat, Nana puts curlers in her hair whilst Theresa sits up in bed, looking through the window into the living compartment, where Dodger plays with Kathleen-Angel and holds Myra-Pocahontas at the same time. At the police station, Joe, Lindsey and Kim rush into the reception area…with the latter two trying to stop Joe from kicking off, trying to pull him back towards the door. The opening montage then ends on Mercedes walking out of her bedroom scratching her hair which is in disarray, before stopping outside the bathroom. The bathroom door is open, and Michaela is learned over the toilet, being sick into the toilet bowl. Mercedes shows disgust, before raising an eyebrow with curiosity at Michaela being sick in the morning.

“Mum, you haven’t eaten anything since Saturday.” John Paul says to Myra, sighing to her in the kitchen as she faces the living room. “I’ll eat when I’m hungry.” Myra says with a droning voice, which makes Phoebe roll her eyes behind her. “Our Michaela won’t be hungry either, being sick all over bathroom.” Mercedes says, appearing from down the stairs. However, Michaela is quick behind her. “I can speak for myself Mercy, must have been something dodgy in my stomach!” Michaela exclaims, as Phoebe tuts and takes the empty plates from the breakfast bar, taking them to the sink. “Well you could all perk up a bit…it’s not like Carmel ever liked a quiet house.” Michaela remarks, as Myra sighs and gets up from the breakfast bar. “Can we please just get through one conversation without Carmel being brought up?” She sighs in frustration, before moving out of the room. “We need t’keep eye on her, she’s a ticking time bomb.” Mercedes says, gesturing to Myra, who has stormed upstairs. “She’s just grieving Mercy!” John Paul hits back, which makes Mercedes scowl. “Well never…but there’s grieving and being a loose cannon John Paul, we’re all missing Carm’ but mum most of all.” Mercedes says, and John Paul shakes his head and gets up. “Whatever, I need to go to work.” He says, as Michaela raises an eyebrow. “Work?” She questions, as he nods. “Oh yeah, our John Paul’s a teacher now.” Mercedes chuckles, which makes John Paul roll his eyes and then walk out of the kitchen and through the living room. He opens the front door, to reveal…Kathleen.

Dodger sighs as he sits on the deck of the Savage boat, looking out across the pond as Theresa comes out of the boat house behind him. “You’re worried for Maxine, aren’t you?” Theresa ponders, causing Dodger to nod. “I guess so.” He sighs, which makes her nod even though he isn’t looking at her. “Well I’ve got my first test today at the hospital for the kidney transplant…do you want to come with?” She asks, but Dodger nods and gets up. “I love you, T.” Dodger says bluntly, wrapping his arms around Theresa and giving her a kiss. Theresa kisses him back for a moment, before pushing him away. “No Dodger. You can’t just kiss me when I know full well you’re going to drop me if Maxine’s found not guilty on Wednesday.” Theresa sighs, before climbing under the rope and walking onto the dock. Dodger sighs and watches Theresa leave, kicking the side of the boat in frustration. Across the pond, Sienna stands in the Dog outside seating area, staring intently at the kiss Dodger and Theresa just shared. She grows angry and kicks a table, before storming inside of the pub.

“Joe! Will you please just calm down? There’s nothing the police officers can do, he’s probably in custody!” Kim exclaims in a hushed tone, which makes Joe kick a chair in frustration. “As if this family doesn’t have enough to contend with!” Joe shouts angrily, as Lindsey looks worried and holds her bump. “I know you must be feeling angry…but kicking off isn’t the answer. You just need to remain calm and wait for Freddie to call and explain what’s gone on.” Kim explains, but Joe shakes his head. “I don’t need him to explain what’s happened! I want to know why! Why he felt the need to shoot Zig!” Joe shouts, as the police officer at the reception desk looks up. Kim smiles at him awkwardly, before the pair look at Lindsey, who is holding her phone as it rings. Lindsey gulps and looks at the pair of them, before answering the phone. “Freddie?” Lindsey questions into the phone, as the camera turns to Freddie, who is standing by a phone in a prison hallway. “Lindsey.” He calls back, as Lindsey looks shocked and Joe grabs the phone off of her. “Freddie! What the hell is going on?” Joe demands, as tears roll down Freddie’s face. “Joe…please, just tell everybody that I love them…tell Zig I’m sorry…I killed Fraser Black.” Freddie says into the phone, before putting it down. The line goes dead, and Joe’s face turns pale and in shock. “What did he say? Joe!” Lindsey demands worriedly, before Joe storms out of the police station. “Joe!” Lindsey calls out, before her and Kim race after Joe.

“This is ridiculous.” Robbie explains, hitting his head against the wall behind him in the hospital as he sits on one of the plastic chairs which line the hallways. “Everything is…our lives are pretty messed up.” Jason sighs, coming to sit on a seat next to him. “Now boys, I know what’s happened is terrible, but you always must see the positives to the situation.” Rick explains, as Robbie raises an eyebrow. “And what could possibly be a positive in this situation? One of our brother’s is in prison, and the others in hospital with a gunshot wound!” He says, causing Rick to chuckle slightly. “Well the queue for the bathroom in the mornings has just become two men shorter!” He laughs, causing Robbie and Jason to roll their eyes in disgust. Leela then walks out of Ziggy’s room, and Rick smiles at him. “Everything okay?” Rick asks, and Leela nods and wipes her hands on her jeans nervously. “He just needs some of his ‘essentials’, like hair gel and deodorant.” Leela says, exaggerating sarcastically on the word essentials, as Rick smiles slightly. “But the doctors have said he’s going to be okay?” Jason questions, and Leela nods. “Although he was too busy checking out the nurse to really listen to the information that he would recover fine from the gunshot wound. Despite what he tried to tell me otherwise.” Leela says jokingly, causing the three men to smile slightly. “So…I’ll just be off then. I’ll be back later.” She says, before walking down the hallway. “I better get off two boys.” Rick says, checking his watch and standing up as Robbie and Jason look shocked. “Well who’s going to be here with us?” Robbie questions, just as a voice rings out. “I’ll be here with you.” The voice of Sandy Roscoe calls out, as the boys turn to see her standing in the hallway with her handbag dropped to the floor, tears running down her face.

“So what do you think?” Darren asks, standing next to Jack in The Dog, showing him a video on his phone. “It looks great!” Jack exclaims, as Darren smiles and then nods. “We’ll have to do it tonight.” Darren says, as Frankie perks up at this comment. “Not tonight, whatever you’re planning, I told you Jack, we’re having dinner tonight.” Frankie explains, as Jack looks up at her for a brief moment. “Frankie, this charity football league looks great! We can do the dinner another night.” Jack explains, strolling outside with Darren. “Jack!” Frankie shouts, but he cannot hear her and she sees him and Darren in deep conversation outside. Rick then strolls in through the door, and Frankie rolls her eyes and looks away from him. “Can’t ignore me for long Frankie, I am one of your regulars.” He says with a brief smile, as Frankie scowls in disgust. “Hopefully not for much longer.” Frankie remarks, as Rick chuckles. “I’ll have a pint when you’re ready, waiting around in hospitals is thirsty work.” Rick explains, as Frankie raises an eyebrow. “What do you mean? Why have you been at the hospital?” She questions. “It’s Ziggy…well Freddie’s only gone and shot him the other night!” Rick exclaims, which makes Frankie look at him in shock. “Ziggy…well is he okay?” She asks, and Rick smiles. “You know Ziggy, more worried about his hair for the nurses than he is about the bullet wound in his shoulder.” Rick chuckles, as Frankie bursts into laughter at his comment and hands him his pint as he pays her. She looks at Jack and Darren outside, before turning back to Rick and smiling.

“What the flaming hell do you think you’re doing here?” Mercedes demands to Kathleen, as she stands in the living room awkwardly, surrounded by Phoebe, John Paul and Michaela. “That’s what I’d like to know.” Myra says, strolling down the stairs as Kathleen looks helpless. “I came to pay my respects…to Carmel. I heard about what happened…hope I haven’t missed the funeral.” Kathleen explains, as Myra looks venomous. “What? So you could steal the flowers…nab any jewellery? Earn a few quid?” Myra says, as Kathleen shakes her head. “No! Carmel was a good woman-“Kathleen tries to say, but Phoebe cuts in before she can finish what she’s saying. “Yeah, she was. And it’s because of you Sonny was given the chance to wreck our lives! If you hadn’t had been such a coward…if you’d just confessed to the police what you knew, none of us would have argued with Carmel in her final hours-“ Phoebe says with anger, as Michaela looks shocked and surprised. “Oh, that’s what she did she? Hard-faced cow!” Michaela shouts to Kathleen, who tries to protest her innocence. “Just get out Kathleen, there’s nothing here for you anymore. We ain’t your family.” Mercedes says, as Myra nods and Kathleen looks from face to face. “That’s how you really feel is it? Why don’t we bring Theresa’s opinion into this? Where is she anyway?” Kathleen questions, as Myra grabs Kathleen’s coat and handbag, shoving it to her chest. “Like you, Theresa’s no longer part of our family!” Myra screams, before grabbing Kathleen and pushing her towards the door. She shoves Kathleen onto the front garden, and she falls to her knees. “And don’t bother showing up at the funeral, because like Theresa also, you ain’t welcome!” Michaela shouts, just as the door is slammed shut. “Hang on, chucking Theresa out is one thing…but banning her from the funeral?” John Paul asks, as Michaela and Mercedes look at each other awkwardly. “I never said that.” Myra says, as Michaela pipes up. “I did. I visited her the other night and told her to not come.” Michaela says quietly, as Myra looks shocked. “Michaela!” She exclaims, as Mercedes roll her eyes. “I don’t see the problem with it, and neither should any of you. It’s scum like Theresa and Kathleen who get to work this earth whilst Carmel lost her life.” Mercedes sighs, before storming out of the room.

“I don’t believe this has happened. I’m away a few months and the family is falling apart!” Sandy sighs, standing in front of Jason and Robbie as the trio look through the window at Ziggy asleep in his hospital bed. “We had no idea what was going on mum.” Jason says, as Sandy turns around and smiles. “I know, because you two are my boys. Not like that brother of yours whose in a prison cell…the murderer.” Sandy says bitterly, which makes Robbie and Jason glance at each nervously. “I’m here to sort you all out, to make sure everything’s on track, and to make sure there’s no buried secrets when I leave again.” Sandy vows, as the camera pans to Lindsey standing behind the corner, listening to what Sandy is saying and looking worriedly at her revelation. The ending credits then begin to roll.

POST-CREDITS SCENE: Frankie giggling with Rick as she leads him upstairs into the apartment above The Dog. “Anyone here?” Frankie calls out, but there’s no answer. “Perfect.” She chuckles, before quickly unbuckling Rick’s belt and dropping his trousers as the screen cuts to black.

Another fantastically written episode

Kathleen's reappearance is sure to send shockwaves throughout the village! Loving this war of the McQueen's Sandy's sudden return came as a real surprised, but it was timed perfectly. I must admit, as much as Gillian's performances were a frequently pretty crap, I really liked Sandy - she felt like a very earthy, tough matriarch, and she brought something to the Roscoe clan that felt kind of like their 'glue'. I hope we see more of her as time goes on Mercedes still around is just epic - I hope you have big plans for her!

The Theresa/Dodger stuff was lovely And Frankie! You naughty girl, you! The thing I love the most about this fan-fiction is the dialogue. It feels so real. You have actually managed to grasp every single characters speech perfectly, and your dialogue encapsulates their personalities wonderfully I suppose the only negative thing I could actually point out is the amount of people that kick something in frustration. That is a tad annoying, tbh! But other than that... this is just perfect. Stunning work Cannot wait for Wednesday!
