She surprised me in a very positive way, she was simply amazing.

Had a look at Wikipidia and it has saying that Frank Sinatra was considered for singing Moonraker, they asked Johnnie Mathis who pulled out. Kate Bush declined. So they asked Bassey. A very roundabout way to get the song.

My heart was in my mouth when she missed the first note. The rest of the song was OK though, not bad for someone in their eighth decade.

Shirley Bassey was a brilliant singer in her day but I didn't enjoy her spot on Strictly. I felt sorry, as she has only shown that she has lost her voice. Not surprising as she is 77.

Love Shirley. Love how she BOOMED that first "GOLDFINNNNNNNGAH" like it was whale song. She's got the finesse of an oil tanker bless her, but always such fun. Give her to Anton next series.
Must. Happen. I can see she wouldn't stand for any lime green chiffon nonsense from Wardrobe. She'd arrive with a steamer trunk full of gold lame' Vegas dresses and tell Vicky to get to work. Then she'd distribute champagne and tell filthy jokes. |
