Strictly or X Factor

Strictly hands down. I don't like X factor but I think Stereo Kicks are great

Viewers, Ten plus million SCD, seven million and failing for X Factor.

SCD Judges all have done it, all danced.
Show re the dance and talent, not a show about the judges.
Judges introduce in one minute once, not over five minutes by two announcers.
Real learning of a new talent.
Good all round entertainment, dance, band skill.
Not fixed.
Family viewing.

XF
Pantomime and structured ( fixed).
About the judges not the talent.
Talent used, and some used as fodder for jokes.
Put downs.
Judges introduced twice taking up first five minutes.
Two judges can't sing.
Two judges too old for the teenager target audience.
Simon Says who will win.
Past sell by day.
Viewers are deserting in droves.

I was just thinking that if Stevi goes out today then the "bad but entertaining" acts from each show would have gone.

Oh and strictly all the way.

Well seeing as Strictly gets about three million more viewers these days I'd say it's obvious which is better

Strictly is a lot fairer and less manipulated. Generally the best dances of the night are at the top and the critique is a fairer reflection of what's happening.

Case in point, they've just saved the joke act on TXF.

Strictly all the way. I've watched every series of Strictly but never watched the x-factor.

I watch Strictly all the way through, but XFactor on catch up, fast forwarding everything except the singing - it's a very short programme that way.

God knows why you're asking this on a Strictly forum. What do you expect us to answer?

I watch both but if they clash I now always watch Strictly.

Strictly doesn't have smarmy Simon Cowell, that wins it for me.

Strictly by the garden mile. Put simply, it is the better show of the two. There is something about The X Factor that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, I don't get that with Strictly. It is fun to watch and, by all accounts, great fun to take part in. I think part of its attraction is that the winner just gets the Glitterball, nothing else. The exposure may boost their career, or it may not. They all tend to have steady careers in the entertainment industry anyway. Another thing, the judges are exactly that: judges, not mentors, so they don't have axes to grind. Any advice they give in their comments is constructive and intended to help the contestant improve his or her dancing. Three respected choreographers and a prima ballerina do know a thing or two about dancing between them. Much prefer it.

If I can class it as such Strictly is the only 'reality/celeb' TV show i've ever watched. The rest are not worth wasting electricity on!!! Anyway Dr. Who & now Atlantis follow SCD and I watch those.

Strictly for Saturdays & Masterchef in the week. Perfect balance of RTV.
Never watch XF, IACGMOOH, TOWIE or DOI. Just find them incredibly manipulated, cruel and/or dull.
