Strictly by the garden mile. Put simply, it is the better show of the two. There is something about The X Factor that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, I don't get that with Strictly. It is fun to watch and, by all accounts, great fun to take part in. I think part of its attraction is that the winner just gets the Glitterball, nothing else. The exposure may boost their career, or it may not. They all tend to have steady careers in the entertainment industry anyway. Another thing, the judges are exactly that: judges, not mentors, so they don't have axes to grind. Any advice they give in their comments is constructive and intended to help the contestant improve his or her dancing. Three respected choreographers and a prima ballerina do know a thing or two about dancing between them. Much prefer it.
