I think they have gone totally overboard on the lighting on SCD. So much so that it distracts from the dancing and often makes it hard to see what is going on.

I agree. People are complaining that the backing dancers were a distraction, but I didn't mind them - it was the lighting that distracted me. Way too over the top. Worst was during Pixie's dance - I could hardly keep looking at the screen with all that strobing going on. Totally unnecessary.

Considering the BBC make a point of warning us about possible flashing images on the news, I would have expected them to show more consideration and hold back on the unnecessary light displays.
