I just have to get this off my chest. I find Tess really really annoying and she spoils my enjoyment of the show. That's it !!!!!

I think she's ok but there is a reason she is unemployed from January to October every year. She must be the only high profile presenter to have one job.

I guess she can't be everyones cup of tea.

I think the problem is that she has never been very bright.

Not surprised no one else hires her. I'm sure she is a perfectly nice person but, other than her great looks, she does not have much else to offer.

I like Tess but I like Claudia and Zoe too, I think all three should alternate each week.

Zoe annoys me at times, but both she and Claudia are quick witted and comical.
Tess just doesn't cut it for me.
She's a female Brucie, reading lame jokes off the teleprompter.
She rests on pretty and that shouldn't be enough for the lead female presenter when it wasn't even a consideration for the male.

I'm not even sure she seems like a nice person, she comes off cold and false to me.

Cos for some of us Tess has always has been an irritation.

I like Tess...I really don't mind her. Yes she could be better...yes she needs to stop acting as one of the judges...yes she needs to stop telling silly jokes...but hey at the end of the day I think that she does a very decent job and it wouldn't be really be strictly if I was 100% satisfied with things in the show....I don't expect the BBC to,ever dropped her at that role. 1-she has been with them since the very beginning 2-after all these years, I think that she earned her place there imo.

...and yet... When Zoe stepped in for Claudia and was nervous at first, didn't you feel how Tess stepped forward to make things all right until Zoe got into it? Tess is a good woman. She's a facilitator. That's the worst I'd say of her. She helps others to do their thing. I like her more than most of you, I guess. She's not dazzling but low-key and good at heart

Well I've never really warmed to her but since she's taken center stage my annoyance has reached another level, and that voice of hers does my head in.
Also she has terrible dress sense !!!!!

Tess is still 100 times better than Bruce. Though i'd prefer Zoe and Claudia presenting.

They could take the advice of this forum and replace Tess next year, the new presenter or Claudia will just take her place as the next one to bash.

If it's not Bruce, it's Tess. If it's not Tess, it's Claudia. If it's not Claudia, it's Zoe. If it's not Zoe...

Tess has hosted the show since day one and hasn't been detrimental to it in any way. She's fine in the role - don't fix what isn't broken.

The poll on DS a couple of weeks ago had around 350 votes- and 66% thought Tess should be replaced by Zoe.

When you think opinion polls for general elections are normally based on interviewing 1.000 people (so about 3 times as many), and are seldom out by more than 3%, I would suggest the majority of the british public (not just the 350 who voted) will feel the same way.

Tess isn't hopeless, but she got the gig through being Bruce's carer. It could and should be better than it is. If you were interviewing from scratch, she would never get the job.

The more they appear together, Tess and Zoe seem to contrast well.

I think that Tess does a great job, presenting Strictly. It wouldn't be the same for me, if she stopped presenting it.

Also to the people that mentioned Tess only having one job, perhaps she wants to only have one job.

I think Tess is fine for the role. I hardly notice her and that's how I like it.

As for Tess only working for 3 months of the year - good luck to her if she can afford to do that

Tess is useless, they may as well have a lump of ice presenting the show. However she won't be sacked, as the BBC is now terrified of firing women over 40.

I find Tess very wooden I prefer Claudia who is quirky and quick witted and Zoe who looks as if she loves her job and is a bundle of fun.

She isn't unemployed during the period you mention - she often appears on other TV shows (obviously not ones you watch) and she's written and had published two novels since 2011.

I don't think Tess is the best presenter in the world, but I think she does a good job in Bruce's old role.

It's not fair to compare Zoe and Tess over the last few weeks because 99.9% of everything Tess says and does is scripted (as is usual in this type of show) and Zoe standing in for Claudia had far more chance to ad lib and seem more natural. Maybe people forget that throughout the show, Tess has the producers speaking to her through her earpiece to keep it all on track. Bruce refused to wear one and Tess had to keep him on track too!

Together I think Tess and Claudia are great, with Tess developing into Claudia's straight (wo)man, plus they have always been part of the show.

I also think it's better the devil you know because you can bet your life if the BBC bring someone in to replace Tess, it won't be any of the popular suggestions we see on here.

I've said some of this before as it seems we get a new thread ever week, so apologies for repeating myself (and I know my view isn't popular).
