I am entertained by the criteria that are used to decide why we should like, or dislike, a contestant. Pixie seems to be particularly vulnerable this year. Her fans say she is "young" (irrefutable), "sweet" (very possibly) and "beautiful" (a matter of opinion.) She is said to be "adorable" (which by definition must be correct, if someone says they adore her), and most bizarre of all, "she does a lot for charity". On the other hand, her detractors say she "wears real fur" and "plays the dead grandma card". Now Pixie is by no means my favourite,so I have no axe to grind, but surely it is enough that she is an excellent dancer and is lovely to watch? She will probably, and deservedly, reach the final and may well win. Isn't this enough, without dragging in so many irrelevancies? Still 'twas ever thus, happening every year, and it gives me a laugh so I guess I shouldn't complain! Good luck to Pixie, anyway!

So who is to blame for -

a) her failure to master the leg/hip action required for a Rumba

b) her 'should have been a Paso' lacking the required portrayal of confrontation?
