Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk Video
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/vi...video-20141117
I love this but is it TOO 70's for the current youth? I am thinking of the Jessie J & Robin Thicke Calling All Hearts which I thought would do better than it did. |

I love it! Not sure if it's too 70's. It should do well.

Currently at #4 on US iTunes. It could smash in the UK as well...

I wouldn't say it's too 'anything' it's very 'retro' and suits me right down to the ground!

Mark Ronson - Version was a great album, imo, and Bruno Mars was like a guilty pleasure of mine back in 2010.
Uptown Funk is like a combined force to be reckoned with. I can see this going to #1 in the UK in January 2015 and also becoming one of next years biggest selling singles. |

It's a great tune, as a 90s kid, I prefer 1970s/80s type songs, this is right up my street.
And I don't think it's "too 70s", these types of songs have done very well and have been received well by younger audiences. Get Lucky for example was like a throwback to the 1980s.. or was it 1990s? And that did very well. A lot of successful songs have been quite retro in the last couple of years. I think if Jamiroquai would come back, it would do very well.. I think funk really is in at the moment. RnB is becoming less successful, and dance too... currently it's all about this sort of music now. |

Just in case anyone wasn't aware, Ronson also performed this song "Feel Right" on Saturday Night Live which, I assume, will be on the same album.
I actually prefer it to Uptown Funk, but I really like both of them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0kl0pr0k24 |

I have not really like any of Bruno Mars' material since his opening album and the collaboration with B o B for 'Nothin on You.'

Bruno Mars has always been so hit and miss for me. I think "Locked Out Of Heaven" is one of the best pop songs of this century but "Uptown Funk" is a definite miss. I really hate that "funk" sound with a passion.

I like that they took a HUGELY popular rap song from last year and made it into a new song with an old school feel. I wonder what Trinidad James thinks about them recreating his song.
