Does anyone here have BT Infinity and the Home Hub 5 and use Unblock US or any of the other region-unblocking services?

I've read conflicting reports, and have started to wonder if the unblocking only works depending on how old the Home Hub is. I'm clueless at this sort of thing, so if anyone can guide me through this in layman's terms, I'd be very grateful!

You have no control over the DNS settings on the HH5 (and quite a number of other makes of ISP-supplied routers) so you cannot set up UnBlockUS globally for all devices at once.

HOWEVER you can set each device you want to use with this service individually - so it WILL work just fine (with a small amount of extra effort!). For example - you want to access Netflix on an iPad so you need to change the DNS setting on that device.

How about the Roku? Only I was under the impression I needed to alter my routers settings before I could do the same for any wireless devices: Roku, iPad etc.

You can't change DNS settings on a Roku, to access say us content on your ROKU you'd need a us roku account and the dns set on your router too.

Don't know about the Roku but this is not true for the iPad, Apple TV etc.

By default Apple devices will ask the HH5 for their DNS translations - but they CAN be redirected to the DNS address that UnblockUS supply - just the same for PCs, Macs etc. It is all on their help pages!

Okie dokie, I did know I'd have to reset my Roku and create a US account, and I figured something would probably need doing with my Home Hub too.

Oh well, back to waiting to see if we get the WWE Network officially here...

You could get a cheap router and just set the dns settings on that i got this one which does the job fantastic then again i had plusnets awful technicolor router but it might be worth a shot just run it of your homehub via a ethernet cable http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computi...41801-pdt.html

Would I still be able to receive all my BT TV channels, full YouView services etc, if I switched to this router? Can't remember where I heard this from, but I thought if you swapped the Home Hub for a different router some services would stop working.

Can't see why not you could just connect new router to your home hub and use that as a ccess point for your roku and just keep you bt tv box connected to the home hub, i'm running my router of plusnets router as a ccess point, i just simply connected them by ethernet cable.
Another option is to get something like a Amazon firetv set up a us account with Amazon and it'll give you apps like WWE and you can change the dns settings on firetv easily, OBVG has written a fantastic article on how to do this on his site here http://www.eyeondemand.com/2014/10/2...azon-fire-tv/#

I think what I'll do for now is wait until after Christmas. If there is no further news on the WWE Network by early January (or if it is bad news), I will purchase the router you recommended and do as you say by using it as an access point for Roku.

To be honest, without the WWE app my Roku is pretty redundant these days. I get Netflix on my YouView box (I guess I'd look at the US version out of interest but I'm not that bothered about it), along with all the UK TV on-demand apps that the Roku has, and though I get a tiny bit of use out of Now TV on Roku, it'd be no hardship to lose it. In other words, I'm ready to reset the Roku just for the one WWE Network service!

have u tried a VPN there are free ones like Hola or decent sub based like private
internet access. that should get around the GEO blocking problem another thing
if u have netflix u can watch loads morecontent ftom their US website.
