Jenna Coleman would actually make a good Doctor

I'm not actually really for the idea of a female Doctor, though I think at the moment, with Missy etc, we seem to very much be being set up for one. And I cant help but thinking, after Death in Heaven and Flatline etc, if it has to happen, the perfect female Doctor might actually have already passed us by. In her performance as Clara, Coleman does seem to have become a lot more "Doctorish," she's able to nail the same sort of quirkiness as Matt Smith did in the role, and I think she could also get down the serious, alien side to him as well, thought did seem quite convincing in the last opening scene. With her confidence etc in the role, she does come off a bit like a female 11th Doc, and I cant help but think that she would actually have been a really good choice for the role, if they do decide to take that leap and make the character feminine. Ah well, cant happen now she's Clara I guess...

I mentioned this on GB after Flatline, I think she'd have been a good choice.

I'd love it if Peter Capaldi regenarted into Jenna Coleman. They could throw in a random sci-fi quirky explanation - through her actions in series 7 and 8* she imprinted herself so completely onto the Doctor's psyche that his regeneration took her form

I suppose they'd have to write Clara out pretty conclusively though. Imagine the Doctor played by Jenna Coleman meeting Clara played by Jenna Coleman.

*Not only has she become part of his childhood, a recurring presence across all 14 regeneration, she remained loyal to him as he aged 1000 years, she helped him bring his planet back, she is responsible for persuading the Timelords to give him a new regeneration cycle etc etc.

Why are you all writing Capaldi off?
I hope he continues as the Doctor for many many years.

I'm not, I really like Capaldi, in fact he's one of my faves and I hope he hangs around for a bit. In fact, as I say, I'm not really that keen on the idea of female Doctor, but I have noticed something really Doctor-ish about Coleman's performance recently, and thought I'd see if anyone agreed

^I like this idea.
Imagine Clara falling in love with the doctor version of herself? Saucy!

In the latest episode, Clara's charcter has come across as to the point, no nonsense stance, confusion to Cybermen, did the trick.
