Peter Capaldi is beautiful.

I have heard a few people commenting about how Doctor Who was no longer "hot" or "handsome" when Peter Capaldi was announced. Not necessarily moaning or getting angry about it, but just observing it.

I disagree. I'm a bloke, and I'm heterosexual. However, I can objectively say that Peter Capaldi is very good looking, especially as the Doctor. Obviously he won't have as many fan-girls, but I could definetley picture older women having a huge soft spot for him.

I mean, he's tall, slim, very intense looking, he has lovely eyes. And some people just look good with grey hair. He's one of them.

Again, I am heterosexual, I'm just making these observations.

As a heterosexual man a generation younger than Peter Capaldi, I think he's a very distinguished and good looking older man who looks suave and sophisticated.

I'm a woman and I agree 110 per cent! He's absolutely beautiful. He has gorgeous eyes, hair, hands, bone structure... I could go on

Whoopie! At last I have found some posters who reflect what I have been saying for over a year.

Subjectively does matter, but then we all have different tastes in men and women.
Peter Capaldi used to be a model.

You should try looking over on Tumblr! There's a sizeable community over there who are absolutely full on nuts about him, and many of them have been that way ever since he was announced. It's quite educational (and endearing) reading what they have to say.

Well am comfortable enough in myself to agree with a lot of the comments above! I think Peter C is an all around very attractive individual. Talented, classy, intelligent, funny and agree with the comment about his smile. For me, it needed someone really good to take over from the estimable Matt Smith. I think after one series.....right choice. Result.

I agree, I've thought he was gorgeous for years!

What I don't get is the whole "now he's not hot or handsome anymore.." surely I'm not the only person to think Matt Smith is not in the least good looking?

^ I am one. As a heterosexual female I don't get all the fuss over Smith and Tennant looks wise.

As a heterosexual male I don't care what any of them look like
May change in the future of course.

Peter Capaldi has a certain look to him where you can tell he was good looking when he was younger.

Not that looks should matter of course, as long as they're a good actor with a great personality I don't care how someone looks like, they could look like a Rhino for all I care, good looks is just a bonus!

My gf has had a crush on Capaldi since the early days of The Thick Of It, and she reckons he's getting sexier with age.

I might dye my hair silver for a bit of attention

Speaking as a heterosexual woman I gotta admit there is something quite sexy about the Silver Fox look, but I just can't explain it.

Amazing how things have changed in 50 years. health, lifestyle & productionwise.

Both Hartnell & Capadi were roughly the same age when starting the show, but Hartnell looked years older, on his last legs practically, due to the week in week out schedule!

I just saw 'Fires of Pompeii' for the first time tonight (I skipped some episodes in the first few series') and have to say I was surprised how much younger Peter looks in that episode. I mean 2008 was only 6 years ago!

Having said that, I think he looks quite distinguished and handsome as he is now.

I thought the same. On reflection I think his shorter, dyed hair takes years off him.

Eh? It's not dyed in Fires of Pompeii, that's the colour it was then. It's the same colour in the first series of TTOI although quite clearly starting to go grey by series 2 of TTOI. Funnily enough a lot of people (me included) seem to think he looks better with it grey than the kind of slightly brassy mousy brown it was just before it began to go grey.

Well, I've had a crush on him since he was The Angel Islington, so there!

How many of you remember that?

(He was gorgeous - so ethereal).

Neverwhere is brilliant. It no longer appears to be on Youtube, sadly.

I have recently read a short story by Neil Gaiman "How the Marquis got his coat back" in the Rogues anthology, edited by GRR Martin.

I loved the Marquis de Carabas - would have really liked Patterson Joseph to play the Doctor. Too late?

I bought the Region 1 DVD, then had to buy a region-free DVD player to watch it .... at the time there was only the American DVD available.

I loved Carabas too - some of his one-liners were great - remember the one about Islington being master of "two thugs and a room full of candles ? "

Capaldi is sexy as hell, right now.

And in his youth, Local Hero - aww he was adorable. google it to remind yourself. Love that old movie.

And I have found every NuWho doctor beautiful, and sexy - except Eccelston, I find his acting poor and his attitude bad, so I find him unattractive.
He doesn't have the beautiful element - beautiful souls, David, Matt, Capaldi.
Eccelston never had soul.
