These days by Take That is a brilliant pop single and has hit written all over it.

However less a week to go before its official release it hasn't made the top 100 once. I find this a little worrying as normally new singles get in to the top 100 ahead of the official release.
Are Take That keeping the single from being downloaded before its official release?? or is it just a case of no one likes it??

It isn't available to buy yet and I doubt take that's main demographic are the type to pre order from iTunes. I think it will do fine.

This only happens when a song is available as an album track, before it's officially given the single treatment. In these instances, the release date is more of a impact date for marketers and media to tailor their plugging around.

In the case of "These Days", the song isn't available to buy anywhere until next week. So it can't chart anywhere. So it's not a flop. It might tank next week, but needs to be released first. Given how big the album sales are going to be, and how the tour's selling, it's unlikely it really matters.

I know, I've heard of early predictions of dismal sales but this is a new one on me.

Number 1 is a little ambitious, especially with Band Aid hanging around. I'd be surprised if it went top 5 tbh

This. The record buyers (of singles anyway) are the 14 to 25ish age group. Take That fans will generally be older and album buyers.

Believe me, most of us die-hards have already pre-ordered the single.

Yep, my married 40 year old mate would still throw her knickers at Jason if she got the chance.

Haha, if she wants to throw her knickers at Jason I think a Take That gig is not the place to be these days!

This is the UK.
It's Q4.
Its Take That.
They've got slots on X Factor and Strictly.

Believe me the single ain't gonna flop. It's No.3 on radio airplay charts.

No.1 album album with huge sales and Top 5 single is my prediction.
I think the album will sell 140k-160k just a little more than One Direction.

It depends on how sales of Band Aid 30 maintain going into next week.

As posted above Take That are on X Factor tomorrow so will definitely get a sales boost after the performance.

These Days only needs to sell 80k and it'll be guaranteed to enter the chart in the top 5, maybe top 3.

To be honest the fact they even chart anywhere in the singles chart here or elsewhere is something. How many groups/artists of their age have consistent high (top 10 even top 20) chartings. Dance artists excluding as are different and always going to appeal to a young/wide audience, Guetta etc.

The singles chart are a young persons game and the album charts are more reflective of true popularity aka Pink Floyd etc.
I know a strong lead single can help promotion but ultimately there will be a time when the single chartings are lower and also for a group that sells so many albums they can't expect to have lots of single success. The album is coming out the following week so most of their fans would wait for that I'd imagine.

I wouldn't be surprised if their singles do flop.

I didn't even know it was available to buy yet. I thought it would be too early as it only got its radio release a fortnight back

Their performance on X Factor was a total cringefest with all that dad dancing.
Howard is the worst and just seems soo awkward trying to be "down with the kids" with his attempts at busting a move.
Think they need to go back to the ballads.

That " Dad Dancing" was a nod to the past and the awful dancing they did in the 90's the whole song is a nod to the past it was meant to be like that lol.
It was a good performance a little nervous but that was to be expected . Def missing Jason though

Love the song but hated their performance on x factor... It sounded like most of it was mimed as well which seems weird...

I wouldn't be surprised, it's bloody awful . . . .

Their appearance on the X-Factor was funnier than anything Stevi Richie had ever done.

I laughed & laughed & laughed . . . .
