Am I being stupid, or is the music being used for Sunetra's Waltz not in the complete wrong time signature?

I imagine they'll try to convert it to the right signature, which sometimes works (see: Mark Benton and Tim's Waltzes) and sometimes really, really doesn't (see: Frankie's Waltz).

Yes she is for the chop. They want her out now.

I must admit I was not best pleased, as a Sunetra fan, to see her song is called "Last Request".

It's a stitch-up.

If they presented that to me for a Waltz I wouldn't bother training and do any old rubbish

They should relax and do a Quickstep or Foxtrot to it..

There's the ominous instruction in the title too. I doubt they want her out so much as they're struggling to protect all the good or favoured ones in the public vote. Which is an encouraging thought...

It will be interesting to hear the arrangement, you can't waltz to this.
They did this to Brendan before, when they gave him a waltz with foxtrot timing.

Yeah I was gonna say that. I think it was actually you, Jennifer who pointed this out to me before... he and michelle williams had to do a waltz to a song in completely the wrong time signature. They both looked great doing it and for people who don't know the difference it looked lovely! Unforgivable on the part of the producers and massive massive well done to brendan for choreographing it and michelle for dancing it.

I find it difficult to find nice waltz songs. I think it's why it's my least favourite one to dance... dancing is so linked to music... I spend all day listening to jive songs or cha cha songs and picturing the dances. I can't really do that with waltz because I don't really like any of the songs.

The band will re-arrange it, but it will sound strange in Waltz time.

The music selections annoy me so much these days. So tempted to rock up to headquarters and rush the music selection meetings and use songs from my superior spotify playlists.

You can tell whoever is choosing the songs has little consideration for time signatures and the extra pressure they're putting on the band to essentially rework songs into the right time frame. For example, Someone Like You ended up sounding horrible imo.

I feel like a broken record sometimes but feel strongly about the music if they are going to choose unsuitable musicc then do it for all - Pixie for example has had appropriate music for all her dances except Paso but even that choice was ok

Like Frankies waltz and tango music Sunetra's music is just not a waltz and it does affect the dance so much really is an unfair playing field as regards to music this year

What I hate about SCD is the totally inappropriate music given to some of the celebs . No way can you waltz to that .
Great shame because Brendan can do a great waltz if the music is correct .

For a newcomer it is so important for the music to match and aid the dance and not be of no help and even a hindrance .

The celebs have enough to cope with without been given totally inappropriate music .

Well the man who is responsible for picking up the music will be on ITT tomorrow so I am interested to see what he will say about this.....

Dancing With The Stars is SO much worse IMO in terms of song choices though so just think that it could be a lot of worse.

And like someone else said, it seems like they must having a laugh

Yes she's been very lucky so far, everything's been excellent. But this week I hate the choice - the song isn't right for a Charleston but knowing these two they'll do a fantastic clever routine and hopefully wow us all again.

Definitely wouldn't be my choice to dance anything to, let alone a waltz! Waltz should be romantic and soft, this song just sounds like a dirge - but that's just my opinion.

As for the timing, some of it sounded as if it was in 3 time, then it went into 4 time, but the dreary singing made it harder to hear all the way through. Having said that, it isn't unusual for music to be played with different timings - that will be down to Dave Arch.
