"Say something nice."

I revisited 'Listen' today and noticed Clara says this to Danny in the restaurant. Clara = future incarnation of Missy/The Master perhaps?!

...or it's just a massive coincidence with no weight to it whatsoever. :-P

I'd prefer not, but with Moffats obsession with making Clara ever more important, I wouldn't put it past him to write it.

Just as likely though, he would have Clara claim it at the start of an episode as a cheap trick to get people to watch, believing they'd actually heard a credible reveal, only for the character to brush off the statement later in the episode, leaving fans feeling duped and wondering why any writer wouldn't realise or care that is exactly how fans would feel after such an underhand tactic was used to get viewers, rather than say, writing a credible well rounded story

Missy has been watching The Oswald Show on her Ipad for years, she probably just quotes her now and then.

I have this vision of SM playing internet bingo, seeding in all kinds of key words and theories to be picked up by us humble masses. He's probably been waiting for this one for a full house.

Great catchphrase, say something nice but not missy style

The Doctor- I'm waiting
Missy- For what?
The Doctor- An apology
Missy- Say something nice?
The Doctor- Exactly
Missy- I didn't believe you
The Doctor-I told the truth but what's truth nowadays?
Missy- Something nice?
The Doctor- Something you have always wanted to say but were afraid, no more afraid, so tell me.

Interesting that Missy says that to Osgood, who, of course, is a metaphor for us fans.

Does that mean SM wants the fans to "Say something nice"?

And then he has Missy kill her off.

Just a coincidence. Obviously.

Missy needs love, doesn't she?

The Doctor seems indifferent.

Doctor love?
