The overriding problem with 20 candidates...

Whilst the obvious pitfalls of having too many candidates are obvious, i.e. being unable to get to know them, quieter ones being less visible in the initial weeks etc, the real issue I have with it is the unfair way it targets these less brash candidates.

For example, Lauren, who seemed like one of the most competent candidates, is continuously criticised for 'not stepping up' to be PM.

Err, how can she (and others) do this when there are TWENTY of them? Granted, LS fired a lot of them early on, but its not really anybody's fault, is it? There can only be one PM per week after all.

I don't really know where I'm going with this but I have just found this series really guilty of this kind of attitude that if you're not shouting and squabbling to PM that you're 'not contributing enough'.

Anybody else agree?

I'm also beginning to think that LS should appoint people PM if they haven't been one yet to test them.

I agree with you, although he does quite often appoint people. Sometimes that doesn't work out though. He appointed Ella Jade because her business plan apparently was very similar to the task, and she ended up fired as a result of that. In actual fact, apart from that they both involved film, the task was utterly different from what she was proposing as a business plan, so sometimes that doesn't work.
