The Ferreira's were told just two days beforehand that they were going to be filming their exit scenes. Poojah Shah told a magazine, they they literally had mere hours to learn their lines and shoot their final episode, and with that their time on EastEnders was rapidly brought to a close.

I'm not quite sure, but I think before the Ferreira's trail out of Walford had gone cold, Kathleen Hutchison herself left the show and John Yorke stepped in.

Is this then, KH1's final week on the show?

Is it, Is it really soon. I couldn’t swear that she was leaving the week, after the Ferreira Family left? I thought she first left before the Ferriera family got chopped, but now it does seem that she left after.. ?

Well I would imagine she stuck around and oversaw the Ferreiras leaving, as she did all the axeing, she has seen all of her axeings go nearly, with the exception of Juley who goes next week. I reckon there was a bit of a rush on near the end of her stint to get all the characters she had axed, out of Walford so that John Yorke could step in and work with what was left.

Surely it will take a while to get rid of KH though, just as the stench of LB has stuck about for a bit - and probably will some time into the future. Both producers would have made longterm plans that might not get reversed by their successors.

That said, the show is starting to improve a lot. HOpefully it will go on to bigger things.

John Yorke's work won't be in EE for a while. A couple of months at least, right?

Well it'll be around even when Phil comes back - we all know what a mess she made by making his return virtually impossible even though he was only taking a break. But, as the recent axeing of the Moon brothers has shown, they're doing all they can to get rid of bad mistakes from the past (even though I don't agree with their decision).
