Are they hearing something different?

The judges have made some totally wrong comments tonight in my opinion, I like OTY but thought that their performance vocally wasn't strong enough and the performance lacked a bit of quality. None of the judges picking up on it! Andrea was flat and boring yet judges calling him excellent and perfect?!

Just posted another thread in frustration. Totally agree with you. It's a joke tonight.

They always hear something different as far as I'm concerned. Every bloody show for the past 5yrs at least. I'ts pathetic!

The judges are just sales people promoting the XF brand. If the judges were honest in their feedback and critique then the whole vibe of the show would be even flatter than it is. So they prevent this occuring by over rating average performances. They do throw in occasional criticisms to acts to balance things out.

To be fair, when I read the song choices last night I thought tonight was a joke.

I don't think they even listen to the singing.

In my opinion, it's the public that hear something different when it's their favoured act.

^^^ This.

The contestants have been dreadful this year, worse than last year if that's possible. But the judges have to play the game, if they were 100% honest it'd kill the show stone dead.

Still, it's not a serious music show, it's just a bit of light entertainment on a Saturday night.

This time next year they'll be selling the contestants CD's in Tesco in the bargain bucket by the till at 99p.

I really like Only The Young but thought they performed poorly tonight, and Andrea wasn't that great either (I also didn't like Ben's rendition)
